New Favorite Book

Loved this book. First Fiona Riley book. Already looking for my next read. Great story writing, main characters have amazing chemistry and steamy sex scenes. Melissa Sternenberg may be my new favorite narrator.

This ones a winner

This was book 2 in the High Steaks Romance Series and it was so good I'm gonna try and find the words to tell you what I enjoyed about this story. Right out of the gate we get to see the chemistry between Lauren and Thea and the flirting that goes on between them is EPIC but then again they don't call Fiona the Queen of Steam for nothing. I enjoyed that Riley spent time building these two characters into a supreme romance story that I can pack away and enjoy the ride anytime I want. And in closing I have to say I will never look at a peach again and not think about this book. If you're intrigued you better go get this one Trust me you're gonna love it.

Another home run...

The Queen of Steam hits another one out of the park with Bet The Farm. Great story and characters. I think I squealed a little when Shelly and Claire from Unlikely Match and Emerson and Haley from Media Darling made cameo appearances. A must read.

Save the farm, get the girl

Anyone in the mood for farm fresh cheese and ice cream? I read Bet The Farm and now want to visit my local farmer’s market.

This book had a lot of highlights but let’s start with our main characters. I really liked Lauren and Thea as a couple. They clicked right away and even though there were a few times I felt like banging Thea’s head against the wall I understood her love for family making her a little crazy. Lauren was my favorite, she was funny and light-hearted. Not as intense as her best friend Trina, but she never let anyone walk over her. They seemed to compliment each other.

Now let’s talk side characters, this book was full of them. I had read a review that the book featured too many sub-characters, for the record I don’t agree. I love when I get the chance to see previous couples popup in future books. Normally that means you get one couple mentioned or a single interaction but Bet The Farm gave me multiple characters from the Fiona Riley universe engaging. For me, an avid audiobook junkie, I really appreciated all the books being narrated by the same person. It felt like seeing old friends.

Love on the Farm ❤️

This reads like a movie! Lauren and Thea hook-up the first night they meet, but it turns out they both have a role in the sale of Thea's family farm, and it may not be on the same side.

I loved this story! It's cute, funny, romantic, and steamy! Lauren and Thea are 🔥🥵💥. It's definitely a feel-good story 🥰

LOVED THIS BOOK!!! From Leann in Wisconsin

This audiobook is a total breathe of fresh air. It kept me wanting more and did not disappoint . The importance of family made me smile and lol with joy. The description of the farm with the surrounding land, and water painted a perfect picture in my mind. And the sexy love making omg. The peach is now my favorite fruit lol. Thank you Fiona and Melissa! LOVED IT!!!

Good one

Likable characters, sweet & intense love story, good narration.
I like Melissa Sternenberg, mostly. She can be a little bubbly for my taste, but once I settle into something she’s narrating I’m in.
Fiona Riley doesn’t disappoint. Smart, strong women characters. There are a lot of them to keep track of in this book, but I somehow managed. This book had a certain something that will likely bring me back to it.

Short on plot

Mostly vapid one dimensional characters. Not much plot, but a lot of sex. Capable narration.

sweet predictable story

someone reviewed this book as steamy it was anything but. it was a cute story but very vanilla sex scenes. The girls were very funny but I needed a more complicated plot

Not worth it

I will generally keep negative reviews to myself but I feel this needs to be told. I don’t know if it’s the names in the book or the narrator but I could not tell what some of the characters names were. Was it Allison or Ellison could not tell. Plus a couple of other names.
Then story itself was poorly written. The story between the two MC’s, in my opinion, was child-like written. Then the transgender character was interchanged between, they, them, she, him. How insulting.
Lastly whether it was written wrong or said wrong the name mentioned was the wrong name.
I only stuck with the story to see what happened to the farm everything else I skipped through.
