Thaddeus Murfee is pursued by the Mob now that he has helped put a godfather behind bars. He decides to file suit on behalf of certain survivors of the Mob’s latest murder. He is pursued relentlessly and runs west, where he seeks refuge while he pursues his case against a godfather and attempts to take away his toys in hopes that will end their struggle in this legal thriller.

Set in Chicago, Las Vegas, Arizona, and Colorado, Thaddeus is hunted. Now the FBI has the lowdown on the Mob’s plot against him, and Thaddeus needs their help but is afraid to reveal his whereabouts. Going up against large, well-funded lawyers who seek to protect the mobsters, Thaddeus takes his case to trial with astounding results. Everyone will enjoy the young lawyer’s romantic entanglements as he deals with the women in his life and his own desires. A search for mob assets ensues, along with a showdown between the Mob’s hitmen and Thaddeus while the surprise ending leaves the listener totally satisfied in this courtroom thriller.

Mediocre compared to his other stories

Not quad well connected to characters and plots . It started out great but seemed to lose steam in the last third. The scenes seemed rather rushed and lacking in details. Hopefully the next one is better

Great book, but did not like the narrator

The narrator spoke with some very weird inflections that sometimes made it hard to listen to

Riveting dilemmas.

I have become a fan of John Ellsworths writing. Perfect drama, great scenic visions, This story is great.
