Publisher's summary

The first audiobook in the Immortality Bites series! My name is Sarah Dearly, and I’m having a week from hell—literally. My blind date bit me and turned me into a vampire, and now I’m being chased all over the city by vampire hunters who want to introduce me to their wooden stakes.

While fleeing for my life on four-inch stilettos, my path crossed with the most gorgeous man I’ve ever met. Thierry de Bennicoeur is a sexy, 600-year-old master vampire with a death wish. And here’s my plan: I’m going to convince him to guide me in my dangerous and unpredictable new vampire life, and in return, I’ll show him that life’s still worth living. To complicate matters, a vampire hunter named Quinn is after me, and he can’t seem to decide if he wants to kill me or kiss me.

Being a vampire sucks, but it sure isn’t boring!

AUTHOR NOTE: Bitten & Smitten was previously published in 2006 by Grand Central Publishing. This edition has been edited and updated from the original manuscript.

“Rowen hits the nail (or is it the stake?) on the head with her feisty debut novel…a true modern girl’s guide to (vampire) life.” (Publishers Weekly)

Entertaining and Suspenseful

I can easily recommend this audiobook if you’re looking for something light hearted, suspenseful and witty. This story has a fun and different spin on what vampires can and can’t do which makes it more entertaining since it’s not a rehash of the usual. The main character Sarah is witty and funny, and the narrator does a great job with line delivery. The supporting characters are also interesting and not the usual ghoulish types you might expect. The narration of the male voices is also done well with some minor exceptions - I quickly got past that. Solid audiobook.

Unique Story

I am biased with this story because it is centered in my hometown of Toronto as I am familiar with the street names and city points. The storyline is unique about vampires and vampire hunters. There is only a little violence. There is a HEA. I love the duel narration where Lillian Yves voices only the female parts and Vincent Lee Grayson the male characters. Their performance was excellent.

Enjoyable Listen!

Such an enjoyable listen! It has humorous elements as well as a few serious times. I loved Sarah! Something she didn't want but she ended up owning it! I liked Thierry at first…he is mysterious and unknown. Plus he is a Master. Quinn was a shock and welcome surprise. I enjoyed the storyline and look forward to more and possibly seeing these characters again.

I did listen to this on audio. Lillian Yves and Vincent Lee Grayson did a super job narrating. I love Mr Grayson’s Thierry voice! Exactly what I thought he should sound like.

Perfection! I was smitten!

Ever had a really, really bad blind date? I bet no matter how bad it was, Sarah’s date with Gordon was worse! After all, did YOU end up a vampire? And as much as THAT sucked, it went actually downhill from there! “Bitten & Smitten” had me from the first brilliantly narrated lines! The writing is fantastic! Laughter, tears, a bit of mystery, some surprises, some angst, a few “OMG YES!” moments, and the “nail biting, edge of my seat, oh my lawd, I wanna up the speed, but I don’t dare cause this is just tooo good to miss anything” moments that make listening worth every single tear, every single shiver, and every single heart pound! Everything I could have asked for, it’s all there! And the absolutely fantastic star on the top of the tree bonus? The narration! Stunning in it’s perfection! Crystal clear, consistent, and emotionally on point throughout! I sat listening, at times with tears streaming down my face, totally absorbed in the story, the world around me no longer existing! These characters, their scenes so vibrantly brought to life! I loved that I could be so throughly transported, so throughly absorbed, that nothing else existed! I also throughly loved the story! I’m not going to give any plot details, I don’t want to ruin anything for future listeners, just know that this story is perfection in both writing AND performance! Five well earned fabulous stars!

What a wonderful vampire romcom!

Michelle is a new to me author and she did not disappoint! What a fun witty story, a great holiday palate cleanser. Sarah and Thierry’s romance is unpredictable and engaging and Lillian’s narration of Sarah’s snarky character is spot on ! I love Vincent’s voice and he was able to make Thierry very likable . All in all a great beginning to a fun series that i will definitely listening to!

Hmmmm…

This is a story of a blind date gone bad… very bad. Poor Sarah Dearly wakes in a grave with punctures on her neck, as her date is burying her. Before he can explain everything to Sarah he is killed by vampire hunter (well crap). While fleeing from the hunters Sarah finds a guy on a bridge pondering suicide. Luckily for her, he’s also a vampire, a very old vampire.

[spoiler] In a weird twist of fate, one of the vampire hunters is turned into a vampire. Sarah helps him, initially against his will, to adapt to his new normal.

Now she has two vampire suitors…. Who will she pick?

I enjoyed this story of Sarah blundering her way thru her early vampire life.

I did not enjoy the male narrator.

What a cute and fun story

I really enjoyed this story. It was fun, sweet, and made me laugh. The story of Thierry and Sarah warmed up my below-zero Ohio Christmas weekend. The story was cute, and the narrators did a wonderful job creating various characters. Bravo.
