Many forms of narcissism are explained with the underlying roots of these mindsets. Pain oftentimes leads to the need to dominate and seek approval.
The conversation about the trap parents often slip into regarding the popular mantra about building “self esteem”, often to the point of nurturing arrogance., rang true. It’s a fine line. The whole social media phenomenon of self-promotion seeks to perpetuate selfish behavior, in my opinion.
I highly recommend this book. It is very enlightening. You may find yourself identifying too many people in your own circle and finding the courage to not take it anymore, no matter what your race is.
