Can't Get Enough

I'm burning through these books, I just hope they can release the last books in the series on audible before I catch up to them!

Review

Why did the 1st and 2nd book come as a single package and those as only the 3rd?

Interesting story, but to short.

With so few left to lose, it's hard to lose ...

from the few, the proud, the marines. The loss of "armor" is to be expected but these soldiers are so unique, it too, is unfortunate to hear of any loss from their ranks.

This book continues with its fast pace approach to the war to save humanity that is teetering on extinction. It also opens the question of what the essence of being human means by introducing a new construct that consists of human DNA, both sentient and sapient and has memories from past human lives programmed in it in such a way that it, itself, is not aware that it is a construct. Are they souless? Cannon fodder? Slaves? A unique take on the faux-human debate.

Also, the three former ChiCom ace pilots perform some awesome heroic maneuvers that make them a credit to their air group.

And while we're at it, "there's something about Stacy?"

Compelling Story

This picks up right where the last book left off. The variety of characters and their different story arcs make for an entertaining adventure. Plus the mentality of the Armor pilots hearkens back to Spartans and their dedication to war and honor. Coupled with the excellent narration, this is one series that I'll continue to listen until the end.

A lot of action, but...

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood of Heroes to be better than the print version?

The action was intense, but seemed to me to be chaotic, and hard to follow. Maybe a hard copy of the book would have been better.

Also, the narrator is really great with various voices, except for females. They sound more like males. ;-)

The Ember War (Book 3) : a continuation of awesome

If a listener has already listened to the first two books of "The Ember War" series, then that listener already has a good idea of what to expect when it comes to the quality of this audiobook. It's still an amazing amalgamation of pretty much everything anyone would want from a action fueled story of space warfare.

Space marines, Starship battles, good aliens, bad aliens, killer robots, giant mech armor, bioweapons, and manipulative AI are all here again and brought back to life by the talented voice of narrator Luke Daniels and the imaginative writing of Richard Fox.

Taking place after the first two books, Captain Valdar has taken his crew to come to the aid of another alien civilization before they are wiped out. Meanwhile, back on Earth a controversy is beginning to crop up that may have humanity tear itself apart, before Valdar even makes it back home.

This audiobook is recommended to fans of space warfare overflowing with action, humor, and tragedy. This is the third book in the series, however, so reading the first two books beforehand will make following the events and characters much easier on listeners.

Good story but...

I do enjoy the book, but in truth this series seems to be two large books broken into short segments and sold separately. Even with credits, I think the price is quite steep compared to other books and series.

fun but way to much religious Hang-Ups

that's a good story but so far the three books I've listened to feel like they were written in the 1950s with the religious mindset of the characters.
