Publisher's summary

With a thriving parahuman accounting practice, a steady relationship, and a circle of trusted friends, Fred’s undead life has become more enjoyable than his normal one ever was. Unfortunately, it also seems that he’s no longer the only vampire to appreciate the up-and-coming city of Winslow, Colorado. A new clan of vampires is moving in, and they aren’t well known for tolerating outsiders in their territory.

Now, Fred must cope with the growing presence - and threat - of other vampires even as he struggles to keep up with his business’s demands and make time for his friends. Between hidden parahuman towns, crazed vampire hunters, quarreling mages, and the world’s least subtle spy, it will take all of Fred’s wiles just to keep his head above water. And as the new clan sinks their fangs deeper and deeper into his city, the undead accountant is faced with a choice between two equally unappealing options: flee his home, or stand against an entire clan of fellow vampires.

Performed by Christopher Walker, Nora Achrati, Marni Penning, Yasmin Tuazon, Shanta Parasuraman, Steven Carpenter, Carolyn Kashner, Christopher Graybill, Anthony Palmini, Laura C Harris, Danny Gavigan, Matthew Bassett, Scott McCormick, Alejandro Ruiz, Bradley Smith, Colleen Delany, Holly Adams, Michael John Casey, Terence Aselford, and Zeke Alton.

prefer dramatic presentation

love the series. I listened to the since voice actor version based on recommendations here. I did not enjoy the story nearly as much. I will keep buying the dramatization versions for the high quality and entertainment.

Just perfect!

I'm a huge fan of this entire series and this is one of my favorites in it. Perfectly dramatized here.

I was surprized

I've resisted listening to the graphic audio of this series for a while now. I love the series so much that I thought not only was improvement unnecessary but that it would not be as good as the original. But to my surprise, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I got to do something amazing, listening to one of my favourite stories anew! I wish Kirby Heyborne had played Fred. All in all a well done piece. Very consuming!

Great edition of a great story!

I love these. I can't get enough. They're the perfect pick-me-up on a bad day. I read them as palette cleansers between really intense series.

Fred is just such a sweet guy. I LOVE the plot happening with Gideon and the little girl. I want to know more! There's an epic fantasy buried in here, but it just doesn't go that direction. They're so funny and so good.

I prefer the dramatized audio versions. They're really fun and not overdone. The voice actors do a fantastic job and the music effects are perfect.

So fun!

Usually I don’t like graphic audiobooks because they are too distracting with all the sound effects and things. But this one is very tastefully done and very enjoyable! The vampire accountant series is great!

Best yet!

Best book in the series yet. The story felt a lot more cohesive from beginning to end. Previous books were a bit hodge podge. The full cast performance is great.
