About this listen

Number-One Best Seller

She Cut My Heart Open....

I only meant to steal a car. I didn't know I was stealing a girl, too. Until the most gorgeous face I'd ever seen popped up in the rear-view mirror.

I fell hard, fast, and forever....

But she tore out my heart - left me alone and bleeding.

How can I forget her, when I have to see that damned perfect face on billboards and magazines?

It's torture.

Nine long years. I thought I moved on.

Then I saw her in the flesh....

And my heart started bleeding all over again....

Bloody Heart is the angst-ridden fourth installment in the Brutal Birthright series. It's a stand-alone second chance mafia romance, with a HEA and no cliffhanger. Contains steamy scenes.

The Lark Notes:

At long last, Dante's story! I know you guys were the most excited for this one. It's my longest book yet - epic in story, timescale, heartbreak, and angst. And epically spicy too - be warned! There's a scene with a belt that had me dragging Mr. Lark into my writing room. As an added bonus, you'll meet Raylan, who will return as the hero of Broken Vow. --Sophie

my favorite!

I know I say this with every Sophie Lark book but this was my favorite one!!!. I loved Dante from the very beginning until the ending and then some. The chemistry angst and drama had me on the edge of my seat. I cannot wait to listen to another audio from this author. I also LOVED these narrators!!! I was looking up Dantes narrator because his voice was EVERYTHING I LOVE. #audiobookobsession #theflock

Loved it!

Another captivating story in the Brutal Birthright series! I love Dante and Simone's story. It was angsty, emotional, and intense. Their chemistry was hot and the sex was steamy. It kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning all the way until the very end. If you love mafia romance or second chance romance, then you should definitely check out Bloody Heart. Alan Carlson and Josie Kunz both did an amazing job bringing this story to life.

Second chance love

I enjoyed this audio narration by Alan Carlson and Josie Kurz. I’ve enjoyed all of the Birth Right Series so far in audio. (Thank you audible for your awesome sale). We finally got to explore the brooding brother Dante and why his one and and only Simone left him all those years ago. I enjoyed this second chance romance and will definitely be going on to the next book

Second chance at first love

Dante Gallo, the oldest in the family and the protector, I knew I loved him from the previous books and knew his story would be amazing... but I wasn't ready for the heartbreak! My goodness this man tore through my chest, ripped my heart out and stole it forever, while I'm sitting here like ok it's yours.. just take it!

Simone Solomon was the perfect "princess stuck in a tower". I loved her sweetness and her desire to design, but I hated her sheltered life and her parent's strict rules. I understood it but I wanted more for her.

These two have an untraditional romance novel story, but it is such a realistic story, I was drawn to it. I loved the fact that I understood their feelings and felt as if I would've made the same decisions if I were in their shoes. Even though I wanted it to play out differently, I knew the fear and the worry all too well. I felt such a connection to these two characters and I loved how real they felt. Sophie is such a master at bringing characters to life and this was a fine example of that. I love the fact that we get to see Callum and Aida and I love that they are still just as wonderful as they were in their book. Getting to see their relationship progress further was the icing on the cake for me.

I felt so much emotion throughout this book, and the difficulties that Simone faced with her sister and her pregnancy, my goodness they were hard to experience with her, I felt like I was living through the heartache with her. The angst in this book is so good and kept me wanting more. I loved every second of it.

heartbreaking

Sophie Lark has written another five star read/listen! I just love second chance romances. It's so hard to choose a favorite in this series. My heart broke for Simone. Her parents influence on her life infuriated me! My heart went out to Dante. I loved their story of finding themselves and forgiveness. So beautiful.

Alan Carlson and Josie Kunz were good narrators. They helped to bring the book to life and are easy to listen to for longer periods of time.

Good.

This lost a star because the belt scene was too much for me. other than that,it was great. I didn't feel that with their eternal love he would beat her like that. I'm Still bothered and books don't usually do that to me. I really felt he would dominate but express relief when he realized he had her back. but hey, it wasn't my story to tell. plus hell, aida, my favorite woman so far, would have tracked her down as soon as she was ,an adult she is a tenacious wench, she is the best! I love this whole series but I do have to say this is my 4rth favorite. third book us my favorite, first book is my 2nd favorite.

Swooning over Dante ❤️

Note: I wrote this review after I read the book and I waited for the audiobook anxiously. I said in my original post that I could not wait to see who Sophie chose to voice Dante and Simone. Well, she chose perfectly! Alan and Josie brought these two characters to life in a very entertaining way. Dante was probably my least favorite Brutal Heir, but after hearing Troy..... swoon! I loved both of them!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here’s my original post.
It took me awhile to finish this book because I have been so busy. It’s why I like audiobooks so much. This is the second book I have read of Sophie’s, and I enjoyed it as much as “Brutal Prince”.
I have to say that I was confused a little at first because of the timing of the story. When Simone meets Dante’s family, Aida was eleven. So, Sophie, told me (yes, the actual author responded to my message) that the story starts in the past and will jump up fourteen years. (I haven’t read the books in order).
Talk about an emotional roller coaster! My heart ached for the both of them. I just wanted to scream and say, “Stop being so stupid!” Yet, even real life is not all sunshine and roses. Sometimes, you have to go through the storm.
Their love story is so special. I still think Callum is my favorite, but that’s probably because Aida is one of my favorite heroines ever! She rocks. I totally want to be her friend, but this couple is a very close second. I cannot wait to see who Sophie chooses to narrate this book.
If you’re not following Sophie on Instagram, you are missing out. She really cares for her fans and will actually respond to our questions most of the time.
