About this listen

When Eve Duncan gave birth to her daughter, she experienced a love she never knew existed. Nothing would stand in the way of giving Bonnie a wonderful life - until the unthinkable happened and the seven-year-old vanished into thin air. Eve found herself in the throes of a nightmare from which there was no escape. But a new Eve emerged: a woman who would use her remarkable talent as a forensic sculptor to help others find closure in the face of tragedy. Now with the help of her beloved Joe Quinn and CIA agent Catherine Ling, Eve has come closer than ever to the truth. But the deeper she digs, the more she realizes that Bonnie’s father is a key player in solving this monstrous puzzle. And that Bonnie’s disappearance was not as random as everyone had always believed...

Emotional

An amazing story! Be ready for a tearjerker at the end unless you have absolutely no feelings or haven’t read the other books of the series. Awesome wrap-up to the years long search for Bonnie!

Not a Bonnie read

I found this book to be very long-winded. After listening to the first few chapters I skipped to the second to the last chapter, in a sense listening to a very abridged version. The entire mystery is "what happened to Bonnie"? Since I had read prior Eve Duncan mysteries I knew about Bonnie and wanted to find out what happened to her. I found out but the listen was less than enjoyable. The narration was breathless and just plain odd. Don't recommend this one.

The end is here

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes. This story tied up a lot of loose ends that were left dangling in other story lines.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The pace was a bit slow at times. There was a lot of time spent tracking down key suspect in story. I would have liked the character relationship between Gallo and Katherine developed more.

Have you listened to any of Jennifer Van Dyck’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I enjoyed it.

Was Bonnie worth the listening time?

Yes. Finally...we know how and why and the who of Bonnie's death.

Any additional comments?

Not what I had expected for the final story. It was a bit anticlimactic. The bad guys from all other stories gave the impression that something much different (and more horrible) happened to Bonnie.

Good conclusion to the story

First, this is the third book in a series that is really more like one story broken into three books. This is the end of the story. It was great to finally find out what happened to Bonnie. The writing pulled you along and you had to find out how it ended. Looking forward to the future development of Eve Duncan now that Bonnie is not the driving force.

The End of the Quest

I loved the book, it is one of my favorite Eve Duncan books. With following Eve for over a decade I am so happy Eve finally found Bonnie, but I am not sure how I feel now that the quest is over.

Beautifully Written and Touching

As always Iris has managed to capture every emotion possible. Having to wait to discover the person and circumstances that ended Eve's daughters life was not easy. But the story of her journey was truly heartfelt and moving.
