Proven Mindfulness Techniques to Help You "Step Outside" Physical Pain
The newest treatment for pain is one of the oldest, most effective strategies for pain-free living: meditation. Drawing from 20 years of results in the field, this widely respected teacher offers the essential meditation techniques that have proven effective at pain management centers around the country.
Break Through Pain adapts the core principles of mindfulness training to a practical process that can treat even extreme, chronic pain effectively, possibly reducing the need for drugs or surgery. Until recently, the left hemisphere of our brain has been seen as the "rational" side, the superior partner to the right. But is this distinction true? Drawing on a vast body of experimental research, Iain McGilchrist argues while our left brain makes for a wonderful servant, it is a very poor master.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Excellent
This is a very excellent and helpful book. I was in tremendous pain when I started reading it and have much more equanimity and less pain. It was supposed to come with a .pdf booklet which was missing in what I got. I just got a one page outline of the chapters but the booklet is referenced in the audio. I would say still get it and use it as often as possible if you are hurting. It was still very helpful. although I would still like the .pdf. booklet.

Forget painkillers
Pain will be with you for the rest of your life. Understand to live with it, to let it flow, and teach what it wants to teach you. And do it through this book, the guidance that is, in my experience, the best one can get.
