A good captain protects his crew. Who protects the captain?
A shuffling of cabins puts Ishmael Horatio Wang in command of the worst ship in the fleet. He learns that being captain doesn't make you infallible and that life in the captain's cabin is filled with new kinds of challenges as he tries to keep the ship moving, the crew out of trouble, and turn a profit to earn his Captain's Share.
In a ship where the officers outnumber the crew, can he keep everybody happy? Welcome to the SC Agamemnon.

If you could sum up Captain's Share in three words, what would they be?
Ish got married? Oh, my!What did you like best about this story?
Captain's share shows young Ishmael cleaning up another disaster ship. Meanwhile, however, he has problems at home -- a wife who doesn't really like being married to a spacer. We see a man having to make choices between his obligations as a married man and his obligations as a ship's captain -- to his crew and to the company that expects him to make money.Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene is with the lawyer and the shoe. You'll see why if you read the book. Although the shoes are foreshadowed with the shirt (no, I'll not tell you more), that scene is both funny and touching at the same time. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. It is really hard to put these aside.Any additional comments?
Captain's Share shows Ishmael successfully running a ship as captain. Again, he has a dysfunctional crew that he has to reshape into a smooth operation. Interestingly, we discover that some of the bad actors from the Tinker had a hand in creating the chaos aboard the Agamemnon. As always, Ishmael steadily solves problems using common sense, humor, and understanding of human nature.Sailors and Wives
