About this listen

Three men. Two brothers. One failing station.

When Edgar Vagrant down checks Verkol Kondur’s mining barge, Kondur gets swept up in station politics in spite of his best efforts to avoid them. When Edgar pushes his elder son, Malachai, into working on the station’s freighter, Malachai decides to take matters into his own hands.

With Malachai gone, his brother Zachary gets to pick up the pieces of a management structure that he had no hand in making, no authority to control, and no wish to continue. When mysterious dark sun graffiti appears all over the station, it seems clear that the situation has attracted someone’s attention. The question is whose?

A deep dark dandy!

Great story expanding on the development of Dark Knight Station, the toeholds, and the western annex in general. Lowell once again delivers a compelling and enjoyable story in his now unmistakable style and tone. Narration and production were well done allowing an easy listen for the uninitiated and a treat for those who have bounced around in the deep dark since his podcasting days and self narration. I hope to see more exploration of origin stories and can’t wait for the next course to be served up!

Another winner!!!

The only thing I hate about your books, is when I reach the end and want more!!!
Nathan, you have given me many miles of thought provoking entertainment. You’ve made me laugh, cry and want to ouch the evil characters out of the nearest airlock.
Your stories are never disappointing. For this, I am ever grateful.

A coming of age story

I always enjoy Nathan Lowell's stories. If you are looking for action, this isn't it. If you like stories with characters you'll enjoy this. Maggie Stevens also appears again.

More!

Nathan Lowell does it again. Dark Knight doesn't end on a cliff hanger, but.... so many unanswered questions! The process of accumulating those questions was fantastic. You don't have to have read any other Nathan Lowell books to dive into Dark Knight Station, but if you have, there are some fun bits that will make you feel right at home.

A dark surprise.

I have been a fan of Nathan Lowell since his frist book came out as a serial text series many many years ago. I had no ideal this was out. Very nice back story on Dark Knight Station. Please keep it up Nathan.

Dark Knight, the back story

Once again, Nathan Lowell brought together a story that captivated me. I gave 4 stars for story because I miss having date headers at each chapter.

Overall good

I like Mr. Lowell's style if minimal suspense and character building. The origins is nice background lore and a good story in its own right.

I found the prospective jumping a bit jarring but it has its advantages.

Mr. Kafer's voice is deep and soothing, and it's always good to use the same narrator for a series with some recurring cast. I wish he used somewhat different voices for kandour and Zachary to differentiate from Ishmael and Pip
