About this listen

Regan turns his full attention to the North to finally deal with the Undead Queen Alara. Challenges and barriers abound that work to keep him from achieving his goal. Magic, technology, and Regan's intelligence are put to the test as he fights his way north.

Louella continues to grow her town, drawing the attention to forces that she'd rather have nothing to do with. When a threat unlike anything before attacks her home, she works even harder to protect the ones she loves and the people who have come to depend on her.

Izora's life has been taking one turn after another, and she's not sure she can keep up much longer. When recalled back home to Jade Wind, she finds all is not as it seems.

good story

i like the series, but the auther really needs to read up on how far a kilometer is, some of the distances he explains in his books are just too excessive, like a 100km ship.. or veiw distance redicules Long. i know its fantasy and all that, but use a diffrent messurement since it is breaking inmersion. sorry for the bad english.

Lots of War

The narration seems to have hit a good stride and I find I'm finally enjoying the new female narration choices as much as the original. As for the story, there are lots of wars and some big weapons advancement moments. Not much moving the story along though in terms of dungeon progression. I wouldn't skip this one, but it's not one of my favorites so far.

Great Book

I'm only writing this review in response to the one that said something along the lines of they were canceling thier order of book 6 because they didn't like/get the end of this one. That reviewer is an idiot, the title of the book is the explanation.

I'll try to avoid spoilers but still give the info I wanted after reading the crappy review.

The new characters at the end are people previously uninvolved in the story until the titular Cataclysm, the side effects ripple outward and pull more people and things into the plot. it's obvious why we're finding out about these new people at that point in the story.

Got better.

Still have an issue with Vaughan’s narration being to campy. Eva is doing great. Story was about the same being good with a few issues with chapters not being in good order but not as bad as the last few books.

WOW

Quite a lot happened in this book and it was amazing. I'm chomping at the bit to read the next book. I'm very much looking forward to what happens next.

Grand Work!

The story is fresh and lthe long ranging extraneous charectors are becoming key characters in a much richer tale. All who liked the other books, which proceeded this work, will love this. I can not wait to read book 6 on 12/17/2020!

some editing issues

enjoyed the story and narration but there are some editing issues where chapters just end mid sentence. chapter 31 for example just cuts off.

Canceled Book 6 Pre-Order after listening to this

The last few chapters in this book introduced a number of new characters / plot lines to the story.

All I could think when listening to them was what does this have to do with the story, they made no sense.

Was it just filler to pad the time of the book?

Did the author mess up and now needs to go in new direction?

Well the writing is getting better

The side characters are probably the biggest stand outs this time and in a good way. The main character could use some of the depth given to others at this point.
