About this listen

Champions of MythRune.... Round One.... Ready, fight!

With his glory days behind him and nothing but life as a loser to look forward to, Zane can’t wait for MythRune. A first-of-its-kind immersive fantasy game that promises to provide just the escape from reality a washed-up athlete like him needs.

But when his younger brother learns he only has weeks left to live, Zane is forced to take his gaming to the next level if he’s going to afford to pay for his brother’s operation and ditch their sorry life forever.

To celebrate the launch of MythRune, the game’s developers announce a worldwide player tournament. The prize? Ten million dollars. More than enough.

Utilizing a God Mode bug to make himself invincible, Zane aims to win it all without getting caught.

But it doesn’t work as planned. Between pain-sensitivity glitches, exploitative players, a reworked world map, and a leveling system unlike anything he’s ever seen, Zane realizes there’s much more to pro gaming than staying alive.

Enemies become allies. Loyalties shift as each round of battle royale raises the stakes. Does Zane have what it takes to run the table or will his greatest advantage, the God Mode hack, become his downfall?

From the authors behind Djinn Tamer comes this LitRPG epic that combines fresh twists with everything you love about the genre—skill trees, leveling, magic systems, party-building, and so much more.

Previously published as the MythRune Online Series, this is a single, definitive version of the epic!

Fun Story

I enjoyed this story. It had a believable premise and did a good job exploring some real world ethical questions. Pavi did a good job, I always like his stuff. Recommended for a nice casual read.

Cheating bad... intentions good.

Full game immersion is always a good thing, and Zane does it.

Who of us wouldn't use God Mode to win a contest if it meant helping those we love?

Things doing always go as planned, and that's a good thing.

At more than a full day long, this book was fully worth the credit.

Very enjoyable!

First of all... that cover! wow!

Zane is a very likable and relatable character for me. I've always used games like this to escape the "real world."

If I had a chance at a competition like this, I'd take it in a heartbeat. God Mode enabled!!

Horrible

Another case of the "experienced gamer" MC being a whiny moron. Constantly bemoaning every tiny thing that is not perfect with incredibly unreasonable expectations Narating is good but the material is so bad only so much he could do..
