About this listen

Who wants to live forever?

For a hundred and fifty years, Ezekiel Zane knew nothing but war—endless war in the name of the Fates, the Fae, and anyone who would hire him. Yet the glory of leading the most elite team of magical mercenaries in existence cost him the only thing he ever loved.

He’s done.

Retired to a community of renegade fae, street-racing shifters, and fallen celestials, Zane’s quiet life on the beach comes with challenges no greater than finding a reason to get out of bed in the morning and knowing when to call it a night at the bar down the street.

Zane may be done. But the Fae Wilds aren’t done with him.

When a mysterious girl appears in Zane’s life with an artifact of surpassing power, Zane is pulled back into conflict with old enemies and old friends—friends who’ll find out what happens when you poke an old bear in his den.

Definitely a fair amount of spice! No Fade To Black here. Story was good and interesting. Should be a great series as it continues.

Was a very good start to a series.

Loving the story so far and the world building is great and I like how this series is linking withe the others he ha written. the characters are well done and the narrators do an amazing job bringing them to life.

Great start!

I've listened to demon hunters and shifter girls and am very happy to be back in the world. The world feels natural and the story is amazing.

I love this world

love the new series & I like how all of the authors series have ties to each other. only issue I had (a small issue) is that the MC's voice should have been deeper & more raspy. especially for someone who looks to be mid 60's. other than that I would have liked it to be a bit longer of a story. can't wait for the next book.

outstanding new series

I have a few books by this author.
Book is 15% adult and 85 % story. Its a good ratio. Adult should add flavor to the story, Not overpower.
Performers are excellent.
Mc is well made. Didn't care for the whole being in his sixties thing. But that is not a deal breaker.
World building was cool. Liked the way the author handled magic.
If there is another book. Ill pre order.

Ok so I didn't know his books all did crossovers really till this book. I keep finding new fetish that make me laugh and Gilf is not one I'd ever looked for. I'll always love the retired super soldier looking to settle down. The girls are spicy and different from the super curved girls so that was a nice change of pace.

Super enjoyable with a nice crossover

I am quite surprised at how good a storyline and how action packed this book was. Cannot wait for the next one to be released!

Really quite surprising

The book reads like the plot is part of a world/story already in motion. It’s done poorly, I love Daltons Trailer park girls(6/5 stars), and Red elf ranch is good(4/5 stars) but dark city used characters we have vaguely heard about and it’s just reads like no one really wanted a story just some tie in events and ideas barley strung together to create this story.

Fine story; a little disjointed
