About this listen

You met Tony Mallette in Dead Hunger III: The Chatsworth Chronicles. Low key and sometimes confoundingly sure of himself, he was an instrumental member of our group of survivors. He played a crucial role in Hemp's rescue, and Tony arrived in the nick of time to save dozens of people in Concord, New Hampshire.

It's time you heard his story.

Great job!

I have to admit, this was my very first audible book. I'm not a fan of them but after listening to this one, I may consider using audible more. Mr. Shelman did a great job. At first I couldn't figure out where the lead character was from, Boston or New York, but after a while I realized he was from New York. He did a great job with the other voices too. I really liked how, when he was "talking to the dispatcher", he made it sound like it was a telephone call. I would highly wrecking

Dead Hunger

Really good novella from a fantastic zombie apocalypse series! Love it when the author is also a good narrator!

An awesome back story into the Dead Hunger series

This story is set in the world conjured up by Eric Shelman for his Dead Hunger series; but while it provides more insight into the world Dead Hunger occurs in, it also stands on its own. This chronicle follows the popular character of Tony Mallette's life as it was at the beginning of the outbreak. Thru Tony's eyes, we are able to experience first hand the symptoms sufferers present with before turning as well as watch how quickly good people can do good things together as well as seeing those who will abuse dreadful situations such as this. Tony isn't perfect, but he is definitely set on doing his best to help others as they all face the monsters; both the creatures as well as the humans set on hurting others.
I really enjoy how well the narrative flows via the telling of the story. Shelman is great at giving each character their own voice without going overboard like I have heard on some other audio books. I am finally able to 'read' in such a manner that I can still complete my chores, cook, garden, walk, and drive. The only problem I have is finding a stopping point as it is so very easy to become completely engrossed in the narrative. I look forward to listening to more of the Dead Hunger books as well as other titles narrated by Eric Shelman.
