A Complex and Compelling Glimpse at One of the Bible's Baddest Girls

Life is not easy in Philistia, especially not for a woman and child alone. When beautiful, wounded Delilah finds herself begging for food to survive, she resolves that she will find a way to defeat all the men who have taken advantage of her. She will overcome the roadblocks life has set before her, and she will find riches and victory for herself.

When she meets a legendary man called Samson, she senses that in him lies the means for her victory. By winning, seducing, and betraying the hero of the Hebrews, she will attain a position of national prominence. After all, she is beautiful, she is charming, and she is smart. No man, not even a supernaturally gifted strongman, can best her in a war of wits.

Angela's way of telling this biblical story is true in some forms and well-engineered in others. It is interesting to see how she has devised a backstory so well thought out.

This was a very good story about the interaction between Samson andDelilah. Although familiar with this Bible account, it really filled in the gaps. I enjoyed meeting the widow as well as the brothers.

I like the point of view of where the book comes from where it’s the point of view of Delilah but then the history that’s interwoven into the book is also good to see what life was really like in the Old Testament

I liked how life like each person was. I cried at the end when he was taken

Delilah and Sampson is a painful story! But T this novel put it all into perspective for the first time and I have read the Bible twice. Thanks so much Angela Hunt, for the Beauty series in which you expanded the stories of Bathsheba, Esther and Delilah.

I could barely stomach this novel but in the end, Delilah surprised me

Inasmuch as this has some tints of fiction ... there seems to be so much truth weaved into the story. i like how u cld picture the story as if that is the way things happened.

I’ve read the story of Samson and Delilah countless times and have never thought of the fact that there may have been forces coercing Delilah to make the choices she made. I love how God can use our weaknesses for God’s on purpose. While will never know for sure what the heart of Delilah was, she is definitely demonize usually, and this is an interesting take on the story and I enjoyed it immensely.

This book did what biblical fiction should do: send me back to the Bible to reread the biblical account of Samson and Delilah. The story entertaining and thought-provoking.

This is a work of fiction based on the Bible account of Samson and Delilah. The story line was ok as stories go, I had issues with the readers. Samson did not match my minds eye of Samson.
