I learned so much from this audiobook, excellent!

"Dementia Caregiver's Practical Guide Manage Stress, Avoid Burnout, Find Hope, and Build Resilience" By: G.M. Grace Narrated by: Rachael Doolen: This audiobook was ideal for listening to while travelling on a road trip. It kept my attention throughout the entire audiobook. The narrator's voice (Rachael Doolen) was easy to understand. This audiobook complements the Kindle edition, which I already read. I'm lot more knowledgeable about dementia now, and I'm confident that I can support my mother with compassion and ability. I highly recommend!

I have a better understanding

As I watch my family get older, I've been curious about dementia and caretaking and was gifted this book.

Something that I really hadn't considered was all of the costs associated with taking care of a loved one.

I loved that the book lists steps to help you with financial planning. It even has a list of helpful resources to assist with financial costs.

It was also helpful to see some of the behaviors that come along with dementia.

There are so many things that I hadn't thought about and was unaware of, but I feel like I have a better understanding and I'm glad that I can reference this book when the time comes.

Practical and empathetic advice for care givers

I really appreciated the information and caring delivery of the author and narrator. The information about the disease, common symptoms, and progression was very helpful, especially since I and many of my family members caring genes that increase our risk of dementia. My father passed away last hear after suffering for many years with Alzheimer's, and his mother before him also suffered from this debilitating illness. Understanding what to expect and the great self-care tips eases the burden.

Help and encouragement for you!

I wish I had this book when I was taking care of my mother! "Dementia Caregiver's Practical Guide" is a wonderful source of information and support, providing excellent ways to manage your life as you care for a loved one with dementia. Author G.M. Grace poured her heart and expertise into her book, giving caregivers the tools they need. I can relate to so much of what she shares from her own experience, and you know you're not alone in this journey. My mother's dementia began in her early 70's and my siblings and I did our best to provide the care that she needed until she passed away at 83 years old. It was one of the most challenging things I have ever had to deal with, having little patience and feeling guilty for not caring enough. After listening to these chapters, there are things we could have done differently, relieving some stress and fatigue. If you have someone in your life with dementia, or may in the near future, I highly recommend this book! Gain peace, strength, and hope. You are not alone. 5 stars!
