About this listen

The chips are down in Scumble River.

School psychologist Skye Denison-Boyd had hoped that her maternity leave would be at least a little relaxing, but when she and her husband, Wally, meet with the priest to discuss their newborn twins' christening, an explosion at the nearby bowling alley rocks the rectory. And although the business was closed at the time of the blast, there's a body inside.

As police chief, Wally is inevitably drawn into the investigation, which seems to indicate that foul play is afoot again in Scumble River, and Skye can't help but do a bit of her own sleuthing. But the clues come fast and furious, ranging from an odd new stranger in town to animosity toward the gambling machines that had recently been installed at the bowling alley, and Skye finds herself wondering if this could be the puzzle that stumps her for good.

Great light cozy mystery series!

I enjoy this series. It is light and feels like a visit with good friends I have not caught up with in a long time. I like that the characters profess in their lives throughout the series. I will continue to return to Scumble River

Yay!!

Christine Leto is BACK as Skye Dennison-Boyd!! She gives Skye the right amount of sass, spunk and kindness. I am very thankful to Denise Swanson for listening to her fans and bringing back this reader. The adventures of Skye and Wallie was enjoyable and entertaining as usual. My favorite books series by far!!!

Great fun

A good mystery, great characters that I think I will grow to love, and a wonderful narrator. The pace was a bit slow in spots, so I switched to the book. I did enjoy the read.

This was one that was included in the membership,if I’d read it in order I might like it better

It’s kinda my fault, I read it out of order. But still yet I didn’t quite understand how the title and chapters were named what they are.

The good points were the narrator was good with different voices and I wasn’t sure who the killer was until the end.

I might listen again but in order next time 😃

Good who dun it book

This was just a nice who done it. No graphic blood and guts. I found the readers voice and change your voice for different characters, a little grating.

Is their no quality control on these readers???

High-zner??? I haven't read the book, but I'd bet it was more like Hizzoner, meaniing a sarcastic colloquial way of saying "His Honor," better known as The Mayor. What did she think? After reading the mayor's name over and over, she comes to that and thinks his name is now High-zner??? Sheesh.

"Die Me a River" is classic great Denise Swanson (she never disappoints) -- recurring quirky characters for a memorable community, well-plotted, Thoroughly enjoyable!

However, when the narrator is poor, it spoils everything. Clearly, this narrator doesn't ask questions, even when she sees an unfamiliar word, or name. AND the "producers" are just as ignorant and don't care. Don't any of them have any respect for the author's work? If it's not Shakekspeare, it's too trivial to matter. I'm not sure what the mindset here, but it offends me.

Great story line!!

But found the performance too nasally. The voice for the main character was way too nasally and distracting. Also, Wally kept sounding like Molly. But the story itself was intriguing and kept my attention.
