Publisher's summary

"The new 1984."

It's 2030, and AI has made trial lawyers obsolete. When a former trial lawyer, John Keys, lands in jail, he becomes embroiled in a life-and-death situation that forces him to confront a horrifying truth to gain his freedom.

John Keys is a trial lawyer and a damn good one. That is until artificial intelligence takes over the criminal justice system and makes him obsolete. Faced with the harsh reality of his new life, he lands himself in prison for good.

Luckily, his old partner finds a way out. All Keys has to do is convince a doctor falsely accused of murder by AI to plead guilty and take a plea pill to avoid a death sentence. But the doctor refuses to accept the deal and demands a trial under the old law: a jury by his human peers.

Catapulted into the heart of the murder trial, Keys uncovers a conspiracy far more heinous than anyone could imagine. Now hunted by Zon, the corporation running the smart city, for the secrets he holds, Keys must expose them before they kill him and everyone he loves.

Discredited Citizen is a thrilling dystopian novel that will keep you riveted to your seat. Order your copy now and join Keys in his fight for the truth.

Gripping story!

I believe that the fact that the author is a lawyer himself is what made the story so believable and engaging.
The characters are well-developed, likable and engaging.

An addictive story

Each chapter of the story is more exciting than the last one. The plot is very realistic and I found myself drawn into the story and caring for the characters.

Great Piece of Work

I've been listening to a lot lately and trying my hand at some genres I've never really looked into before. This is my first go at a dystopian type story and I have to say I was impressed.

Too close to reality

With total control and an ability to monitor everyone's movements, communications and activities, things do not go well for the inhabitants.

Artificial Intelligence Rules

By examining the lives of the lead characters, we see how the circumstances of ordinary people are shaped by the forces of a society in which science presumes to direct our lives and ensure our obedience to the law and the social order.

Clever ending

Worth listening for the thrilling action and the point being made.To each his own. But I hope to heck this ain't the future.

Fairly believable story set in the near future.

I feel like that the story could have so easily turned into one long and dull sermon on evil corporations in the hands of a lesser author, but Kiesling nails it here.

High octane story!

The scary factor about this audible is that it is not set too far into the future, and with the way things are going on presently, you can easily see interesting things happening as the world progresses.

If you get offside with the Zon, abandon hope!

The writing is clear, the story progresses well, the characters are plausible, as are their reactions. The fact that I thought of Kafka while listening to it means it had a genuine impact, which means five stars.
