Tender, Honest, and Deeply Restorative

This book really knows how to highlight the different styles of disorganized attachment and how toxic they can be. It reminds the reader to recognize attachment behaviors like struggling to make decisions and offers practical solutions to overcome that behavior. The author encourages focusing on activities that bring you joy without seeking other people’s approval. Building a strong support network is a great strategy as well as using positive affirmations before engaging in social interactions. I love the idea of using eye contact and small talk to help you engage in social interaction with ease. Disorganized attachment doesn’t have to be a challenge anymore.

Feeling secure if your birthright

I was intrigued to learn more about attachment styles after hearing how our childhood experience profoundly impacts our relationships even when we grow up. What this book teaches me is that you may not be able to change your past, but you have the option to create your future. I've been on a self-discovery journey in the past year, and it's taken me a while to understand when authors say "your are not your emotions; you are not your thoughts." You can think however you like to think, but you can choose to acknowledge them and let them go. More of the tools are inside the book. Listen to the book and create a life you desired.
