About this listen

From the award-winning author of The Sisters, Local Girl Missing and Last Seen Alive comes a taut psychological thriller in which family secrets and hidden pasts build to a violent climax in a guesthouse among the idyllic Welsh mountains.

Following a traumatic event in London, Kirsty Woodhouse packs up her family and moves back to her native Wales. There she sets up her new home with her husband and two young daughters, and goes into business with her difficult mother managing a guesthouse in the Brecon Beacons.

But when the guesthouse is ready to be occupied, Kirsty encounters the last person she ever expected to see: her estranged cousin Selena. It has been seventeen years since they last talked—when Selena tore everything apart between them.

Why has she chosen now to walk back into Kirsty's life? Is Selena running from something too? Or is there an even darker reason for her visit?

As Kirsty becomes increasingly concerned for the safety of her daughters, her dream home begins to feel like her worst nightmare.

Kirsty knows that once you invite trouble into your home, it can be murder getting rid of it . . .

Absolutely wonderful

Many unexpected suspenseful moments that keep you fully engaged. When you think that you figured the story figured out, think again because you are wrong.

Good story line, gullible main character

I do like this author a lot. Suspenseful and no unnecessary language or vulgarity. She keeps you engaged. This is my third Claire Douglas book, and I really love her inclusion of a variety of psych issues in her characters. It gets a little old when you’ve known one of the “twists” since the beginning of the book and the main character keeps going on and on about how shocked they are that it happened. Other than that, pretty good book. I’ll of course keep reading this author.

Do not distrub

At first it turned me off but then I like English books and stories so stayed with it and finally enjoyed the story teller as well. She did a great job of discriptions in the book. As I listen to her story it's almost as if you can see yourself there watching the whole story unfold in front of you.

I really enjoyed this book! Loved the characters and the storyline. Lots of suspects and I can say I had no idea how it would turn out. Kept my interest all the way through.

Phenomenal and brilliant on all levels!

I don’t know what took me so long to choose this from my wishlist, considering I’m an avid fan of author Claire Douglas. I’ve now been introduced to narrator Hannah Daniel and, not surprisingly, found her skills the best as they come. Douglas pens an intricate and suspenseful novel. A traumatic event forces Kirsty Woodhouse to relocate from London and begin anew in Wales, but her fresh start is shattered when her estranged cousin Selena appears, bringing with her a devious web of secrets and lies. As Kirsty's dream home turns into a nightmare, she must confront the darkness of her family’s dark past and the real reason for her cousin’s visit. The subplots eventually come together with perfection. I found this gem during a much anticipated Audible 2-for-1 sale, Never a dull moment, this story flows along at a comfortable pace, leaving me guessing throughout. Prepare yourself for twisty zigzags throughout. Worth a credit. Through Daniel’s impeccable narrative skills, "Do Not Disturb" is a heart-pounding thriller that kept my attention from start to finish with a jaw-dropping finalè I never saw coming. Highly recommended. Again, I'm up on my rooftop screaming, "Epic, I say! EPIC! EPIC! EPIC!" A winner on all fronts!

Ending sucked

Slow start. Better middle. Terrible ending. I hope other books are better. Just not a fan.
