Publisher's summary

If you release the dragon....

Being the First Dragon, a mysterious demi-god who created the dragon race, certainly isn't all it's cracked up to be. Sure, he's powerful and rules from afar with a kind and gentle heart. But, after centuries of watching his dragon children grow, he's come to realize that his lonely life is lacking warmth, basic human contact...and love.

Charity Doe is a woman on the run, forced to serve others, and never to gain what she seeks most: security. When fate lands her with a dragon who is immune to her unique abilities, she's intrigued. After experiencing his human form, she's thrilled. But when she realizes she can't fall in love with him or he'll lose his immortal status, she's in hell.

If only the entire Otherworld wasn't in pursuit of Charity.

If only the First Dragon wasn't so irresistible.

If only she didn't have to break her heart in order to save his...you must deal with the fire.

Get to know the First Dragon, intimately

It is a very good novella where the first dragon discovered that he had spent over five centuries mourning his second wife’s murder. He is disconnected from his descendants and has no close contact with anyone. He is lonely and the Wyvern’s mates have decided that he needs his own mate.
Charity is a siren who has been forced to mesmerize the audiences of the band she is in. She puts them into a trance and the other band members steal from the audience while the sings. She has almost always been alone, unwanted except

You can always find love.

This is a very good and complex series. I highly recommend reading this series in order. This is a short story which helps tie in all the different Katie McAlister dragon books together. It gives you a look into the insights of how the dragons came to be. A great listen. 👍

Best dragon series ever.

Since the very first book, this series has had me. It was wonderful to see the old...and I do mean old...curmudgeon get caught. Romantically speaking. A wonderful narrator!

Not into it

I stopped listening halfway through. It just did not hold my attention and the story was a bit boring. I lost interest early in but tried to make it through....wasnt happening. I love Tavia Gilbert as a narrator but even she couldn't keep me listening. Glad I got this for free and didn't waste a credit on it.
