About this listen
Ages ago, sorcerers of unmatched power sundered a world into four realms—sky, stone, fire, and water—then vanished. Over time, magicians learned to work spells only in their own realms and forgot the others. Now only the few who have survived the Labyrinth and crossed the Death Gate know of the presence of all four realms—and even they have yet to unravel the mysteries of their severed world. . . .
In Arianus, Realm of Sky, humans, elves, and dwarves battle for control of precious water—traversing a world of airborne islands on currents of elven magic and the backs of mammoth dragons. But soon great magical forces will begin to rend the fabric of this delicate land. An assassin will be hired to kill a royal prince—by the king himself. A dwarf will challenge the beliefs of his people—and lead them in rebellion. And a sinister wizard will enact his plan to rule Arianus—a plan that may be felt far beyond the Realm of Sky and into the Death Gate itself.

Story
Aram thinks he’s nothing but a misfit from a small fishing village in a dark corner of the world. As far as Aram knows, he has nothing, with hardly a possession to his name other than a desire to make friends and be accepted by those around him, which is something he’s never known. But Aram is more. Much, much more. Unknown to him, Aram bears within him a gift so old and rare that many people would kill him for it, and there are others who would twist him to use for their own sinister purposes.

Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

Story
Is Raistlin truly dead? The answer lies in the new Dragonlance novella by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, which gazes into the future of Caramon and his mage-son, and into the dark nether-past of Raistlin. Tales of sea monsters, dark elves, ice bears, hideous hydra-headed serpents, and loathsome draconian troops.
Further adventures of the kender Tas; the innkeepr Otic and young Tika; the dwarf Flint and Tanis, leader of the companions; Caramon and Raistlin, twin brothers, one, a genial warrior, the other, a sickly magician and scholar.

Landover was a genuine magic kingdom, with fairy folk and wizardry, just as the advertisement has promised. But after he purchased it, Ben Holiday learned that there were a few details the ad had failed to mention. The kingdom was in ruin. The Barons refused to recognize a king, and the peasants were without hope. A dragon was laying waste the countryside, while an evil witch plotted to destroy everything.

Teamed with his two best friends—a Legacy of the Berserker and a Legacy of the Chameleon—Leland must learn quickly if he wishes to get anywhere in this newly opened world. Together, the trio will lead a relatively normal young adult life: protecting caravans, killing mana-lions, learning to play the harmonica, and forging contracts with gods.

Story
This is the way the world ends...for the last time. It starts with the great red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. It starts with death, with a murdered son and a missing daughter. It starts with betrayal, and long dormant wounds rising up to fester. This is the Stillness, a land long familiar with catastrophe, where the power of the Earth is wielded as a weapon. And where there is no mercy.

Never underestimate the need for a mixing engineer
I've waited a long time for this book series. The narration is... okay. The narrator has talent and does a great job with voices, while they may not fit the characters they at least make it easy to differentiate who is speaking. The narration between is a little flat, making it hard to pay attention. The biggest gripe is the dynamics. The audio keeps fading from loud to very soft, like the speaker is moving away from the mic, like someone turning away while talking to you. This could have been fixed in mixing with compression! The story itself is great, as others have said.

So happy to have this series!
I have always loved this series since I was young and own all of the hardcovers. This is still a great series with amazing story and characters. Like the others, I will agree others and say that while the narrator was very active and well versed, the accents and voices used just seem off. I would never imagine elves sounding like Irish sailors or Alfred sounding like he was the Alfred from Batman. Just seems the voices don’t match the characters a lot.

Just as good as the original cassette, but more
This was, bar none, my favorite book series growing up, and still is for that matter. I have never finished it, however, due to the fact I don't enjoy reading that much and only the first 3 books were ever recorded on audio cassette, abridged as well. To my great joy and suprise, not only did audible release the entire first book unabridged, but the entire series for me to finally finish. The performance is excellent, though it does leave me nostalgic for the music and sound effects accompanying the cassette versions. That isn't a negative, just a personal bias. I cannot wait to start the second installment and enjoy more of my favorite characters. Cannot reccoment this series enough.

Finally on audible
Cant tell you how many times i’ve searched for this one on audio book. Like others have said this was one of my favorite series back in the day. Still remember the cover art on hardback. Narrator did a great job. I was worried when i hadn’t seen his name before but he pulled through for me. Looking forward to the rest of the books. Downloading now!

An old favorite
I first read this series as a teenager. I loved it than and I still love it. I can’t believe it took this long to make this series into audiobooks. It may be an older book series, but I think it still out shines many of the newer books. It most definitely deserves to go in the history books as pathing the way for the future fantasy gene. Just remember this was originally published in 1990’s when the fantasy gene was damn near impossible to find.
