Publisher's summary
Their love is destined to shatter the boundaries of time....
Archaeology grad student Alexandra Larson’s world is turned upside down when her mother shares her deepest, darkest secret - that she doesn’t know the true identity of Lex’s father. The revelation sparks a change within Lex, and her dreams become far too real. She sees things she shouldn’t be able to see...knows things she couldn’t possibly know. Terrifying things. Deadly things.
To distract her from the surreal changes taking over her life, Lex leaps at the chance to join an Egyptian excavation run by Oxford’s enigmatic Professor Marcus Bahur. But the distraction might be more than she bargained for. While deciphering the secrets of a mysterious stone tablet, Lex falls headlong into a prophecy created by a dying god over four millennia ago. She must rely on her frightening new psychic powers to dig up the truth. And it doesn’t take long for her visions to convince her that both Professor Bahur and his excavation are much more than they seem....
The past clashes with the present in this paranormal saga of ancient prophecies and warring gods. If you like Egyptian mythology, steamy romance, time-bending mysteries, and complex characters, then you’ll love this sprawling time travel adventure.

When the world is brought to a standstill in the early days of a pandemic, Etta Wilmont finds herself suddenly stranded in Kansas City. Desperate to secure a roof over her head, Etta crosses paths with Henry Logan, a lonely older man in need of a caretaker. His invitation for Etta to stay with him seems to be the solution to both their problems—and maybe the spontaneous adventure Etta’s life has been missing. Emma is content. She's got a promising career in front of her, great friends, and a pretty amazing family. But her love life has been a little lacking lately. That's when fate steps in, and she crashes into a tall, dark, and handsome man - Teren Adams. He’s single, successful, an extraordinary gentleman, but he’s also secretive. And some of his secrets are more unusual than most people’s. For instance, he’s a "little bit" vampire. He has fangs, incredible hearing, unbelievable speed, and, on occasion, he enjoys drinking a steaming cup of blood. But he’s also very much alive.

Fun new take on supernatural romance with iffy grammar and meh narration
I got this because I was headed to Egypt and wanted to get in the mindset. (I also got some more serious books about colonialism and politics, this was the fluffy fun.)
The idea is interesting. The writer may need to brush up on grammar - there were quite a few ??? moments . And the narrator…. Cannot do accents and pronounced at least 10 words consistently wrong. She wa otherwise okay, but it seems like there are hundreds of other narrators who might do the text and it’s international cast of characters justice.
I’ll listen to the next one because I’m curious to see what happens, but I may not stick it out after that.

Enjoyable but Confusing Ending
I really liked this book. The idea was novel. However, I found the very end difficult to follow. Too much happened too fast. It was almost as though the author were racing to finish the book. I kept rewinding to try and make sense of the conclusion, but I never could. It just became too tiring to figure it out. However, I will certainly buy the second book when it becomes available in audio.

This is a great series if you enjoy time travel stories. The characters were well developed throughout the series and it was a very enjoyable listen. I would recommend this series - though be forewarned, the last book very abruptly wraps up the series.

Ms. Fairleigh is incredible.
I normally hate time travel based books, but she handles it so masterfully that I just love these books. and I LOVE that Lex is no one's pushover!
read these, then try the Kat Dubois Chronicles. Just incredible. thank you, Lindsey
