About this listen

“Speak now or forever hold your peace.”

I hate that part in a wedding, where everyone waits on pins and needles to see if someone has a reason why the couple shouldn’t get married.

So, when I ran into my high school sweetheart and found out that she was engaged, I said my peace before she ever walked down the aisle.

Shauna and I crossed paths when I went to Las Vegas for work, and sharing one meal with her was enough for me to remember why no other woman has even come close to affecting me the way she did.

But then her fiancé showed up, surprising us both, and I thought I’d lost her for good.

Every dream of our future was sucked from me once more, because this wasn’t the first time she slipped through my fingers. At nineteen, she made decisions that tore us apart, and I was too stubborn to understand why back then.

But it turns out my twin brothers aren’t stupid after all when they convinced me to take one last shot to win her back.

So, I flew back to Vegas, intent on stopping her wedding and telling her how I feel, but it turns out, history was damned to repeat itself again because she walked down the aisle anyway.

Or so I thought.

Because six weeks later she shows up at my parents’ house for a job and there’s one thing that’s noticeably different on her—there’s no ring on her left hand.

I saw my future with her.

I know that’s what I still want.

But it’s hard to face the past when the future is uncertain too.

Can we heal the hurt? Can we find our way back to each other?

And most importantly, can I finally tell her: “I had everything but you.”

Beautiful wrap up to this series!!

Rating: 4.5⭐️

Thoughts: I loved the fact that Forrest went way outside of his character and flew to Las Vegas to stop Shauna's wedding. Though it took some meddling from his mother to actually bring the two of them to the same town, it was fun watching them blossom into a relationship again. It was very evident that the two of them should be together, but I liked that Forrest kept some distance to protect his heart again. This was a great example of a perfect second-chance romance!!

Angelina Rocca and Dane Anderson narrated all 3 books and together they did such a great job bringing these characters to life. It was so fun to hear the voices they used for the previous main characters in each new book. Highly suggest listening to this series!!

I just knew this would be amazing and it is!!!

Second chance, young love and so much freaking more. I knew Forrest's story was going to be a good one and I was so happy with the journey it took to get these two their happy ending. I really loved the emotional rollercoaster of growing up and finding your way. Even a few surprises I was not expecting.

Second Chance

This was such a cute second chance romance. I’m a sucker for the “it’s always been you trope” and that was the case for BOTH of them. Forrest was so grumpy with everyone, but Shauna brought life back into him and got him to smile again. Forrest did so much and gave up so much (willingly and without her asking) for Shauna, and it just showed how much he really loved her. And the tattoo! Ugh, it was so cute – the way all three of the brothers had a tattoo for their wives/girlfriend.

Anyway, this was different because in this instance, it was the FMC who groveled rather than the MMC. And Shauna pulled out all the stops, refusing to give up no matter what, for that second chance. It helped that his family loved her and meddled.

secrets

I'm such a sucker for second chance romance especially when it's high school sweethearts that find their way back to each other. I think I especially love this trope because it usually shows so much personal growth for the characters - usually during their time apart.

I especially loved how Forrest found his way into a promising career and a fun hobby too. I also loved how Shauna was able to find herself in a different way in Vegas.

But boy was their reunion fun from the first moment all the way to the end. I love that they never forgot each other and I loved how things worked out for them.

For me, personally, there were a few too many secrets. I know these are common in this trope but there were more than I expected.

If you like spice then this is definitely the book for you because these two are hot for each other and it shows.

I would also highly recommend this if you love close knit family romance. Forrest and his brothers are wonderful and his parents are the best.

This book is especially good on audio. I loved the narration.

I received an advanced listening copy of this book through the author. This is my honest review.

Another amazing book by Harlow!

This is book 3 in the Newberry Springs Series and follows Forrest and Shauna. Each book in this series is a standalone but is better enjoyed if read in order.

****I listened to this book on Audio. the narrators are Angelina Rocca and Dane Anderson. Both bring so much depth to this story and the hurt and betrayal felt by the characters are brought to life by these very talented performers. Their acting was brilliant and I will forever think about their amazing voice interpretation. Bravo, you both did such a beautiful job on the entire series. Thank you for bringing these characters to life and giving us such a gift of your performance.

I have been waiting for Forrest's story since he was introduced in book 1. We have been given little bits and pieces of why he is such a grump. I had no idea what he went through when Shauna left him back in college. When you love someone as deeply as Forrest did, it explains a lot. Years later he finds out she is getting married and flys to Vegas to say his peace before she gets married to another man. What Forrest doesn't expect is to see Shauna 6 weeks later, unwed and working for his family ranch. Can they figure out their relationship and find the happiness they both want or is there too much damage to fix what they broke in themselves?

OMG so much angst and longing in this book. The guilt and despair they each feel for the mistakes they made in their relationship was immense. They both are so heartbroken but what they find is when they are together they feel whole. Their love is one we all dream of and this story is the perfect way to end this series. We get glimpses of all the past characters and it was truly hard to say goodbye. The ending was amazing and perfect for this series. I loved the conversation that Forrest had with his dad at the end of the book. It brought a tear to my eyes and was so beautifully written. This series will go on to be a favorite of mine for years to come. I loved it so much that I immediately purchase the physical copies to display on my shelves. If you love a second chance romance, pick up this book. Thank you Harlow for bringing this beautifully told story to your readers.

Captivating read that'll linger in your mind

This story delivers a fresh spin on second-chance love that keeps you hooked. Forrest, the grumpy but irresistible hero, adds a cool vibe to the story as he tries to navigate the messy reunion with Shauna, trying to win her back by trying to crash her wedding. Harlow's writing flows so smoothly, making it a breeze to devour. The Christmas setting adds a cozy touch to the rollercoaster of love, forgiveness, and the search for family. Even though this wraps up the Gibson family series, you'll find yourself wishing there were more tales to dive into. It's a captivating read that'll linger in your mind.

Georgia’s story with fabulous narration

Sad this series is ending but Harlow gives us a great final book.

Shauna and Forest were HS sweethearts and ended their relationship with hurt feelings and some hidden secrets. As they reconnect several years later there is still a lot of hurt and anger.

They’ve always loved one another…never stopped. Communication is the key and as they open up to one another the truths from the past come out and they can begin to heal and trust.

So many emotions and feelings while reading this book. Love all the cameos from the other characters in the series.

Angelina Rocca and Dane Anderson deliver a fantastic performance! Angela gives perfect voice, personality and emotion to the characters. She comes across as strong, yet vulnerable and also very caring. Dane has a delightful growly, deep and strong voice. The also gave the characters perfect voice, emotion and personality.

I love how narrators take authors words and give the reader/listener a whole new experience to enjoying the story.

The perfect ending to an amazing series!

This series has been absolutely amazing in audio! I don't want to pick a favorite because I loved them all equally, but I was anticipating Forrest and Shauna's second chance so much! I just HAD to know what happened with them in the past and where they ended up in the future. I needed to know what made Forest the grump that he was because of course it was a woman!

Harlow James did not disappoint with the conclusion to this great series! I wanted to be mad at Shauna for breaking young Forrests' heart, but when it was revealed why, I felt for the both of them but understood where her head was at. When they were younger, it's quite possible he loved her too much, especially considering what he gave up for her.

When they come across each other 15 years later in Vegas, and her fiancé joins their re-meet cute, my jaw dropped. I am so glad Forrest fought for his woman (yes, engaged or not she was always his), and that Shauna made the right choice in going after her man. That woman was not going down without a fight and I loved it!

The passion, love and chemistry between Forrest and Shauna was unparalleled. They were tulle two halves to a whole.

Dane Anderson and Angelina Rocca were once again fantastic as narrators. I loved that they narrated each of the books but brought something different to each couple.

Everything But You by @harlowjamesauthor

Newberry Springs Book 3

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Shauna was the one that got away. And Forrest will not hold his peace.

I honestly really enjoyed this book. The audiobook saved me since I haven’t been able to do physical reading lately.

I loved seeing Forrest and Shauna reconnect and of course the rest of the Family being who they are and butting in at every turn.
