About this listen

A young farmer's wife draws on her life with kids, cows, and a front-porch view to help us see God’s goodness and beauty wherever we are, reminding us that the simple life is not a place to be but a way to be.

“Grab a cup of coffee and join Caitlin on her porch to hear the lessons God has taught her through the good and hard of everyday life.” (Vivian Mabuni, speaker and author of Open Hands, Willing Heart: Discover the Joy of Saying Yes to God)

When Caitlin, a small-town girl, fell in love with a farm boy named Jake Henderson, she had little idea what farm life - or marriage and motherhood - would bring. But raising a family on a farm is teaching her more about God's goodness and grace than she could have imagined.

Faith, Farming, and Family is a rich, story-filled walk through farmhouse hallways, harvest-ready fields, and God's bountiful dreams for our lives. As Caitlin reflects on everything from wayward tractors to watching a marriage grow from surviving to flourishing, she reminds us to see the redemption in our own stories.

Join Caitlin in exploring biblical truth through the eyes of a farmer's wife, whether you are wrangling kids onto a school bus, sowing creative seeds in a business meeting, or walking the pastures of your own family farm. Faith, Farming, and Family invites us to recognize God's beauty right in front of us so that we might find the courage to take the next step - or the first step - into His incredible calling.

Critic reviews

“Moving, inspiring, real, raw, honest...There are a thousand words I could use to describe Faith, Farming, and Family, but nothing will compare to what you feel as you read Caitlin’s faith-filled words. She gets real and vulnerable where the rest of the world won’t. Caitlin sheds light and biblical truth on her struggles and brings them back to Jesus every time. This book will change your life and outlook on it.” (Terryn Drieling, owner of Faith Family and Beef blog)

“Caitlin Henderson’s book, Faith, Farming, and Family, grants us an up-close look into the world of farming. Her warm and inviting tone welcomes her readers to draw close. It’s as if we join her with a cup of coffee on her porch to hear the lessons God has taught her through the goodness and difficulties of everyday life. Though their circumstances may differ, women will relate to the biblical principles woven throughout the book and find practical applications for cultivating a life of faith anchored in the unchanging character of God.” (Vivian Mabuni, speaker and author of Open Hands, Willing Heart)

“Through everyday lessons from life on a farm, Caitlin speaks encouragement to our hearts. Her warm and relatable style invites you in as she shares both the trials and the triumphs of marriage, motherhood, and faith. From checking fences to feeding cows, Caitlin’s stories will bring smiles and tears as she writes words of hope, ultimately pointing to the source of all hope - Jesus. Sharing about both the valleys of worry and fear and the mountaintops of love and new birth, Caitlin reminds each of us that God is always present and working to bring about wholeness, forgiveness, and redemption in our lives. Faith, Farming, and Family reads like a breath of fresh hope.” (Ginger Hughes, owner of No Mama’s Perfect blog)

Love listening to it

Everything was so relatable. It is great to know that I am not the only one who goes through the up and downs of farm life and the questions of being married to a farmer and how I’m raising our children. 100% helpful and great reminder to turn to God for everything in life!!

Love the hard truths

I absolutely love the relatable, hard truths about being a Christian and farm wife in rural America. Several parts of this book were the kick in the butt I needed to go to God more and change MY behavior and they way I think.

Truly Inspired

I loved this book. It’s been quite some time since a book has inspired me this much. Caitlin speaks so honestly, clearly and lovingly about every single part of the book and her discussion on the importance of obedience and listening when He calls you to be vulnerable caused me to make some tangible changes in my everyday life. From one Farm Wife to another, thank you. ♥️

Amazing grace

I only wish I’d had the opportunity to hear this story 40 years ago. The simplicity of the real life stories intermingled with the personal, emotional perspectives and structured with God’s word could have greatly assisted me in struggles and allowed me to have been a better and more patient wife, mother, daughter and grandmother. Although late in my life, I’m uplifted. I feel redemption and plan to move forward to follow God’s will for me without hesitation. I plan to share this amazing story with all the women and girls in my family to help them better understand and handle their own life struggles. Thank you, Caitlin.

Everyone should read or listen.

This book feels like the sermon you just know God directed at you during service. It forces you to examine your life and renew you to become a better person, not just a better Christian.

A breath of fresh hope!

This book is a recharge for your desperately drained batteries. She gives you encouragement to be the best “you” you can possibly be. She doesn’t sugar coat things and make them look like a cake walk. She is honest and genuine and tells the dirty grimey aspects to real life situations. Best of all, everyone can relate in some way. Overall, amazing book! Now for part 2?

Faith over fear

There could not have been better timing for these words than the current season of life I'm in. A whole new perspective of the path I'm walking, closure to wounds I wasn't aware I still had and reflection deep within myself.
