Such a Faithful Prequel!

I was so excited back when this was announced!!!! To get a whole prequal not just about Antón but also Clara García AND Máximas Matanzas???? It was like a dream come true and the team DELIVERED the atmosphere was amazing, the characters and VA’s were fantastic! I’m so happy to see more of this amazing world and get to know more of the characters in it! And all the little nuanced details were phenomenal you could tell a lot of heart and care for the source material went into this!!! Also I’m sooooo glad they delved into the Academy in this book! It was such an interesting (and frightening) part of The game that was really glossed over. With the inclusion of it it really makes Antóns regime much scarier. 100000/10 can’t get enough of this!!!!

Bad story, bad narration

The story was poorly written and most of the voice actors didn't have the right tone that fits the mood of the situations they were in. The book seamed to push political views not relevant to the story which made some parts of the story seemed forced and didn't tie in well with the story. I gave this book 3 stars overall because I did enjoy Giancarlo Esposito's voice acting, like the FarCry franchise, and liked the idea of having multiple narrators and sound effects.

Pretty simple but fun backstory

It's a very straight forward backstory to one of the best characters in the game. Anton's evolution to me is the most entertaining part, easily. I want to play the game now!

Truly Capturing!

I loved the video game, but this gives you an 'in more depth" view into the eyes and thoughts..the experience of Anton Castillo. A couple hours in and I'm HOOKED, although there was one gruesome part in the story about his father in prison being tortured that was so detailed and everything everything it made me cringe a bit, I still love the story so far. SUCH. a great find on here!

Awesome Backstory for Far Cry 6

I’m a huge Far Cry fan so when I saw the announcement for this title I immediately preordered it and it did not disappoint.

All the cast members were superb but especially excellent was Giancarlo Esposito reprising his role as Anton Castillo. But that’s not a surprise to anyone.

The story was a well written and showed such a great history into the events leading up to the start of Far Cry 6. This isn’t your typical audiobook, it’s an audible adventure. Lots of sound effects, dialogue between cast members, etc. It was like listening to a prequel movie for the video game.

I would 100% recommend to anyone who is a fan of Far Cry and/or Giancarlo Esposito. This audio-based, feature-length cutscene provides a exciting look into the past events leading to Far Cry 6. It was so well done it makes me want to play Far Cry 6 again.

Was not impressed

I was very excited to learn Giancarlo Esposito was part of the narration. Was the only reason I bought it. I wasn’t aware that it was a game and probably missed a lot because of that but I did not find the story or writing entertaining. The dialogue seemed clumsy and poorly written.

Definitely disappointed.

Fantastic backstory

After hearing this, I want to go back and play Far Cry 6 as Anton. Giancarlo is amazing which is no surprise, but the story, production, music and acting make this a story worth hearing even if you know nothing about the game.

Fun if you play the game

Ok, as an addition to playing the game.
Good performances all around.
But the story is nothing special with no surprises or anything.
If you don't play the game this is not for you.
