Keeps getting better and better

I originally held out reading book 3 because I wanted to listen to the audiobook. I had done the audiobook for the first two and it was just a great experience.

I don’t regret waiting to read this one. I did a half and half read and audiobook listen. The audiobook remains AMAZING. The narrator’s for Thea and Wilder really did a spectacular job bringing these characters to life. I can say for certain though that there is no way is he!l that I will be waiting for the audiobook for book 4. We are left on a decent cliffhanger although one that I am satisfied with. It was a great hook to keeping you needing more.

Thea and Wilder remain ❤️‍🔥. They may be two of my favorite book couples. They have such great banter and tension. Helen does a great job letting the personalities of these two shine through and complement each other

And Kipp. Oh. My. Goodness. I love everything about Kipp and his connections. He is such a fun side character.

Thank goodness book 4 is just around the corner because I need to read the epic conclusion that is sure to be heading our way!

Booooook four please!

I am very much looking forward to diving into the next, this booked dragged a little in the middle in terms of pacing. I’m certain it was for the development of the characters and plot but it was certainly worth it for the beginning and end.

The voices kill me

If you can get around the way the narrators speak the story is good, for instance they pronounce the word book as bewwwk- it’s like an exaggerated surfer accent at times? I don’t understand if it’s a stylistic choice but it’s really distracting (also not all the time)

Amazing cliffhanger

The ending makes me so excited for the next book! My only qualm is like okay she lost her lightning and gets it back when she gets back with him?! Dumb hate that 🙄 it would’ve been so much better for her to get her powers back via the rite. But loved her adventure in this book and the development with the shadow touched.

Furies! The action and adventure is ever lasting and I love it!

Overall, loved. The voices are perfect once again. The female voice does sound a little like Kip at the beginning, but I only noticed it for a scene and then they sounds different. Might just be my ears.

Thea is an awesome fierce FMC and owns it!
Sooo much has come to light in this book!
There is an abundance of discoveries, and we finally figure out what transpired in Thea's past 20 years ago, along with the true meaning of the prophecy. Long kept secrets are finally revealed leading to a forging of new relationships through this book. We also get to the bottom of who is the actual villain in the story, and a group of misfits seem to be the good guys.
Yes there is still open door spice, not as much at book 2, but still some that you will want to cheer on. I continue to swoon for all the relationships even if they come with slow burns.
I love the side characters as well, and found myself laughing out loud to their jabs and banter with each other. There is just awesome character chemistry that makes it feel like a real group of people/ friends together going through the story.
While I wait for book 4 to drop, I'm think now might be a good time to read Slaying the Shadow Price standalone and get to know the almighty Prince of Hearts.
I highly recommend this series! Especially if you loved ACOSF.

This one reignited the story for me.

Much more adventuring, fighting, banter, and FMC character arc! We really moved the story along with this one and I am here for it - so ready to start the next one!
