About this listen

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.

That’s the old human saying anyway. For Bryce, it’s a little more literal. He’s a Feral Mage, someone who gains the abilities of monsters by devouring them. This magic has allowed him to excel as a mercenary, rising to the top rank of the guildhall.

Bryce finds more than he bargained for while taking what should have been a simple job. Accompanied by a feral wolfkin and a wannabe monster hunter kitsune, he tries to escort a young snow elf woman to the Red Pine Kingdom. Between monsters, criminals, and a pissed-off swordswoman, danger is an inevitability. The further Bryce gets into this job, the more dangerous it becomes. With the deck stacking against them, there’s only one ace up their sleeves.

BRYCE IS A BIT OF A MONSTER...OR SEVERAL.

Great first new book in series

Enjoyed the book with its interwoven stories all leading to a bigger plot. Looking forward to book 2. The love interests are enjoyable and can’t wait for more people to join the pack.

A new type fantasy

This book and the MC brings a new angle to the fantasy genre. The MC is more than he seems at first and the cute wolfie girl is great. This is a great first book in a new epic adventure. Cant wait for the story to continue.

amazing start to hopefully a long series!

this book took me by surprise as it differs from what I'm used to and this genre but not in a bad way by no means. would love to see dual narration done at some point just for a better differentiation between voices.

Good for the genre

I like the fact that this harem themed book has some deeper plot to it. It flirts with too much cutesy stuff but manages to get across the finish line

A Great introduction To this New World

Overall a great fist Book, Characters are well thought out they each have there own personalities and distinct place in the story, no extras walking around wondering why they are there

Voice Actress knows her business and she does it well, every character has there own voice and she uses drama and emotion when it is called, for she speaks softly in the quiet moments and the editor adds sounds effects for battle ringing bells ect..

The story does not seem to move to quickly, like some in the fantasy area do, you can get a sense of the area of the world that is described logging towns capitol cities ect... and i was eve surprised by a few of the things that happened and how it all turned out, which of course is a plus, all around a goo start, waiting for book 2

Turned out way better than I expected.

It is a slow build up and the MC is not your overpowering trope. He is strong and has insane potential but his character is actually respectable.

Amazing start

Another hit by chase. Book was as good as than his other series. While I’m not a huge fan of repeated and consistent POV swaps it was not too bad still mostly the main character would prefer if there are a bit fewer in the next books but if not it’s ok. Story was great and captivating and the characters are well done. 10/10

So many marvelous characters!

Delicious character build up and unexpected storyline arc. The beginning of a true saga with a solid foundation. Cannot wait for the next!

Interesting storyline

The storyline and plot are interesting and unique. I do wish there was more backstory and explanation of the storyline and the MCs history. The MC isn’t OP but he’s not weak either. He does make some dumb choices that hopefully he grows out of in the next book. The clingy gf trope is one I could do without but over all the characters are likable and unique. The narrator left a lot to be desired.

Cant wait for the next one!!

I really enjoyed the characters and the story. The only issue I had with it was with the narration, however it wasn't the narrators fault. There were times when the audio would just drastically drop in volume.
