About this listen

Harlow Bevans was a changeling mermaid working as a diving consultant for the Earthen Conclave. Then he came along. Charybdis. A serial killer who possessed her body and wrecked her mind. Now she's an inmate - patient - at Edelweiss Mental Institution. When a haunting song lures her to the scene of a brutal murder, the calm of the past few months is shattered. A fellow patient is dead, and Harlow is caught standing over his body by a mysterious guard who hides his own secrets behind a pair of aviator sunglasses her fingers itch to remove. Unwilling to be a pawn in another psychopath's game, Harlow sets out to discover the real killer. What she uncovers makes her a prime target, and the next song she hears could be her last. Curiosity may not have killed the cat, but it just might fillet the mermaid.

Flipper

Harlow, sorry, the nickname stuck. So Harlow is in the crazy bin. She is starting to wake up after her ordeal. Now she is being drug into another serial killer’s webs. Will she fall prey or will she mop the floor with this new entity?

Surprising ending

At the beginning of each new chapter the sound was choppy, my reasoning for 4 stars on performance.
Overall a good story with a surprising ending. Wish Ms Edwards would have introduced us to the merpeople!

Really good listen

I usually don’t listen to this kind of book, but I was curious. I definitely enjoyed all of the Gemini series. I hope the story line will continue now that I’m invested in all the characters. Would love to see what happens next with everyone’s relationships

Happy ending

I’m glad that Harlow was able to get a happy ending after everything she went through. This was the best story yet and the narrator is getting better and better

I enjoy it more than the main story

I'll often skip .5s in a series because they're not on the main plot, and can be annoying or irrelevant. This one is pleasant and has somewhat more interesting characters.

My truth

Such a cute story. Has little to do with the rest of the books lol but still good. The reader was good as well could use some work on male boxes and accents lol but good enough to imagine all details. I unfortunately read this book last not knowing it was the first book 😂 but as I said earlier I don’t think it has much to do with the rest of the books anyways
