About this listen
Basic Evolution: Survival of the Strongest.
After surviving the Spire and opening their Second Gates, Iro and Emil are named Heroes of the Fleet, their faces on posters across every ship. But with the benefits of notoriety, comes a dangerous new responsibility.
The Raider Fleet, not content with stealing their food and murdering their people, demand ownership of the wing. To avoid an unwinnable war, the Home Fleet agree to a grand martial tournament, Hopper against Raider, and both Iro and Emil must compete.
Can they fight their way through the competition to claim the title of Fleet Champion? And why are the Black Cloaks so eager to see who wins?
A progression sci-fantasy perfect for fans of Cradle and Iron Prince.

Story
I expected aging out of the foster care system to be hard. I wasn't expecting it to include finding out I was a Warlock, destined to be hunted by the most powerful Witch Families so they could bind me to a coven of thirteen witches and spend the rest of my life "harvesting mana". Add to that a set of magical resonants that made me an even bigger target to some of those Witch Families, some of which would rather kill me than let a rival get me.

Story
Extreme sub-zero temperatures suffocate the surface. Frozen structures of bygone eras span across massive ice-wastes. And the survivors closely guard any technology rediscovered within them. The only escape from the deadly climate is beneath the surface, but that doesn't mean it's safe... Monstrous machines lurk in the depths. Unhinged demigods war against them, dying over and over, treating it all like a game. The depths themselves shift over time, more contraption than rock.

It’s Drop Night, the one night every decade when the gods hand out cards to a lucky few. If you get a deck, you’re a deckbearer capable of wondrous feats within the Great Game system. You can control powerful monsters and summon mantles that let you fight alongside your beasts. Ethan Wolfe, top enforcer for the Grimm family mob, has already been overlooked on two previous Drop Nights. People of his ilk seldom receive cards, as the gods tend to favor people who follow their divine mandates, but that doesn’t mean Wolfe can’t hope.

Good book. The tournament arc was well done. The magic system is still intricate and is developing well. Can't wait to see what book 4 does with Iro's character development.

Story just keeps getting better
Great vocal performance and gripping story. Good pacing and fun characters, the world continues to expand and the lore and world building enhances the experience. Curious to see the future for Emil and can’t wait for book 4!!

Its not really a thriller, barely a mystery.
The mystery of what are the titans/behemoths are is kinda old, cause it seems like they are never getting any closer to uncovering that. The magic system is more of personal challanges and trials being encountered and over come to level/acend tiers. The Book was a drama of some young aspirants, their trials and challanges as they level/acend tiers.
