Publisher's summary

The zombie apocalypse has been good to Sarah and David. Their marriage is better than ever. They communicate well, share responsibilities, and now, they're starting a business. ZombieBusters-for all your zombie extermination needs. There are lots of zombies and that means lots of customers...

Except one of them doesn't want the zombies dead; he wants them alive and ready for experimentation. Mad scientists make for difficult clients, and this time Sarah and David might have bitten off more than they can chew.

A wonderful follow-up! (no spoilers)

What did you love best about Flip This Zombie?

I went into this audiobook expecting a shoot-em-up with nothing more than "jobs" completed, and a little plot relating to the couples marriage, given the first book. What I got was that and so much more. Without spoiling it, I'll just say that Sarah and David end up doing a lot more than killing zombies and bonding.

This series is a refreshing addition to the zombie genre, and I'd recommend it to all those who seek rotting corpses getting their butts kicked (though I imagine kicking zombies in the butt would just be squishy and gross; I recommend aiming for the head)!

Nope

I don’t know why, but I’m listening to the series. I’m not impressed. The narrator is decent, but the characters, Sara(h) mainly, are beginning to annoy me.

Good, but not as good as the original

If you’ve listened to books by Jesse Petersen before, how does this one compare?

Since the first one introduced us to the characters, it had a lot more room to maneuver and to surprise us with new revelations. This one, while fun, seemed a bit forced to try and continue the schtick Petersen used to flesh out her heroine in the first book.

Soft Core Zombie

Any additional comments?

Most of my favorite zombie books build tension and have a sense of impending doom. This has a little of that, the characters seem to escape danger easily. What I do really like about this series is the humor. I love the bickering between Sarah and David and the "marriage counseling / zombie survival rules" that start each chapter. "The couple that slays together, stays together". Recommend this series for a light read, maybe to break up any darker zombie books you may be reading.

Sarah is still annoying

If you could sum up Flip This Zombie in three words, what would they be?

Sarah, shut up!

What other book might you compare Flip This Zombie to and why?

no comparison because this is not my genre.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Robbie offs his dad. It was way overdue.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Robbie chooses to stay in the lab, rather than travel with Sarah and David.

Any additional comments?

None.

More of Sarah & David -- zombies, beware!

The second in the Living with the Dead series does not disappoint! Sarah & David are now professional zombie hunters, well, as professional as you can be in the post-apocalyptic world, where the surviving human beings are scratching out an existance, fueled by Pop Tarts, canned beans, and beef jerky, still watching over their shoulders for the lurching, blood thirsty zombies that are always threatening. Getting through each day is still a challenge, but now there are rumors of bigger, scarier, smarter, so-called Bionic Zombies! Oh, no!
This is a fun story with a great narrator. Can't wait to get to the 3rd installment!

Loving This Series

I usually am not a big fan of zombie stories but something about this series caught my interest and I'm glad it did. Between the flowing story line and the narrator's performance the time listening to this book flies by and, before I know it, the story is wrapping up and the book is finished.

It got better

I was not totally thrilled with the first book in the series. It got a bit too "whiny" for lack of a better word. There were moments that managed to shine, but it was just not ringing for me. I had already snagged books 2 and 3, so I chose to give it another shot. I am very glad that I did. There is some nice stuff going on here. It is a couple trying to make their lives work in an apocalypse. Enter mad scientists and bratty kids and it surprised me at how well it all worked. On to book three with some really good narration by Cassandra Campbell to make my long drives just a bit more pleasant.
