About this listen

A socially anxious college student discovers she has superpowers—and they need babysitting—in the first book of an original superhero series.

Power Day occurs every year on September 15th. Across the world, formerly regular people awaken with superhuman abilities—and labels to go with them. They become the next generation of Heroes...and Villains.

September 15th is also Emily Wright’s first day on campus. While everyone else is out celebrating the start of their college career, Emily’s hiding in her dorm room. She wonders if it’s possible to earn a degree while completely avoiding eye contact with anyone.

All she wants is to learn a little and maybe get over her anxiety. Instead, she’s granted a superpower and categorized as villainous. So, Emily panics—and inadvertently conjures up a pint-size supervillain sidekick.

Emily has no intention of doing anything—evil or otherwise—with her powers. And if she has to babysit an increasing number of “little sisters” in order to stay under the radar, so be it.

But can Emily gain control of her life, or will she drown in a sea of supervillainy and cuddles?

Pretty nice listen

I was a little off put by the stammering main character but it was nice to see her grow out of it by the end. At some points the Cuteness was a little too much and felt like the author was trying a bit too hard to make everything they do be described cutely. I guess it may have been just a bit too sweet for me. Overall it was enjoyable and worth the money.

I like the whole hero/villain premise. I will pick up the sequel.

awesome superhero/villain plot and narration

pros:
This was a great book relating to a new hero type of universe.
it's entertaining enough to do a full read-through without getting bored and the story has some decent progression.
The narration is awesome.

cons: the continued use of alt-analogs for real world things gets annoying like "I jumped on my pc and ogled the thing" but it's needed for copyright reasons in some places or something I guess so its all right.

Yay RavensDagger!

I am not a fan of litRPG. I am not a fan of "wholesome" stories. But I have become a big fan of RavensDagger. She has great ideas and funny, interesting characters. I have decided to read every book she releases!

Cute. Very cute.

The cutest book I’ve read this year. Nothing much happens, but it’s still fun while it does

A great read

This story is a great read but isn't without its downsides. 2 in particular that put me off at times was that the entire book started and was based around misunderstanding, so much so that it was comical at points. The other one being at times it almost felt like the book was written to promote Communist propaganda with how hard it was pushed. I know that it was just in relation to the story itself and the characters, but it really felt like it harped on it for a long while at the beginning of the book. On the flip side, one thing I really enjoyed was the small Easter egg the author wrote into the book in referencing their other book series "Cinnamon bun". if you follow that series as well and are a keen listener, you should also notice it. It was subtle but fitting, did not need to be there and played no role in the story, but it was a nice little bone for the people who follow Ravensdagger.
