About this listen

During her morning exercise, yoga instructor Cam Saunders finds herself rescuing a young woman who has walked into the sea, seemingly intent on taking her own life. When the woman in question turns out to be a famous actress, Cam promises to keep her secret safe.

Six months later, America’s sweetheart Ella Temperley is working hard to get her life back on track, grieving the loss of her twin sister and fighting a deep depression. Despite her fame, she feels alone in the world and keeps thinking of the woman she owes her life to.

After Ella shows up in Cam’s life again, the two become closer than they ever imagined possible. But what happens when friendship turns into attraction? Living is a slow-burn coming-out romance about loss, love, and life.

I'm not crying, you're crying. A story rich with substance, emotional depth, realistic & stimulating dialogue, balanced humor, yummy chemistry & tension w/ scenes so perfectly written that you catch yourself staring into lala-land with your mouth half open - realizing you missed your road exit 5 miles back. I give this a five finger rating for sure! (out of 5; 5 being the best)

Money Well Spent!

I loved Living. The story and the characters are great. I thought the background theme of abuse from media was a good thing to add to the book. TJ Richards does a great job with the narration.

Great.

That was really an amazing and beautiful story, that had it all. I loved it. It was really a good story that mad you feel all sorts of feelings and it really made you want to read/listen to more from Lise Gold. The narrator really has a nice sweet voice and she did an amazing job. It’s my second book I’ve listened to by Lise and TJ. They make a good match. I can really recommend anything with this combination.

An absolute amazing story

I had read a series by This author and was impressed with the writing and characters. This book was next in the question so I got it.
The loss in the book was very relatable and so was the recovery. Very true to reality without being overwhelming.

Gave me hope

This isn't the first of her books, nor will it be the last. Sweet romance, rocky start with a dark undertone. The nararator was great. It's listen to other things read by her, if this is a sample of how good she is.

Sweet...

This was my first book from Lise Gold and first narration from TJ and I'm sure glad I found them both. I was a little reluctant to finish the book, cause Im mostly into faster paced books, thanks to my short attention span. Thank you ADHD, love you too. But somehow, after 4 hours of listening, I didnt even realize the chapters flew by. All of a sudden I had 3 minutes left and an emptyness in my heart that only comes after finishing a great book that you just wish to forget and experience again.

I loved taking a peek into issues brought on by living the life of a celebrity and of course, the theme of mental health and depression hooked me in for many reasons I wish I wasn't able to identify with. Suicide and attempted suicide are issues rarely talked about in my culture and very frowned upon, as is therapy and it was very refreshing too see it being a big part of this story. For once, it helped someone get their happy ending. Or, a happy beginning in Ella's and Cam's case.

Time flew by.

Lise Gold has written a wonderful story that grabbed my attention from the first word and TJ Richards has done a fabulous job of bringing the characters to life. The way Lise brings in the subjects of depression, suicide, mental health and shows that with therapy someone can come back from the brink of suicide and learn to live again and be happy.

I could easily distinguish between characters and that is a big thing for me. If I'm constantly trying to figure out who is suppose to be talking\thinking then it's tough to follow the story. Well done TJ Richards.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story

Ms. Gold really knows how to make her characters sound real. I typically like faster paced stories but I decided to take my time with this one and am so glad I did. Just sit back and let a good story teller take you away. And someone please tell TJ Richards that someone in Texas has a horrible crush on her reading skills. And thus her voice. Just sayin'...

Great Use of Dialogue
