About this listen

Practical and straightforward, yet warm and compassionate, Grieving with Hope clarifies the popular misconception that people move through stages of grief. This will be an encouragement to many, as grieving people often think something is wrong with them when their grief doesn't proceed neatly through stages. The reality is that grieving people jump back and forth between different emotions, sometimes wrestling with multiple emotions at once.

This book is packed with short, biblically based, gospel-centered, topical chapters addressing the issues grieving people face but are often hesitant to mention to others. It helps listeners accurately interpret the message their emotions are sending them and gently guides them to determine whether they're grieving in a way that leads to hope and ultimate healing. Developed from interviews with over 30 well respected Christian counselors, teachers, and authors, as well as numerous personal testimonies, Grieving with Hope helps the bereaved discover how hope and peace are available amidst their heartache and pain.

This audio book really helped me think about some things while grieving a loss. Many factors were brought up to encourage me and to let me know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Although, I am still grieving, I feel that I am better than I was before listening to this book.

I've benefited greatly from "Grieving with Hope" audible. I was able to listen quietly to each chapter and soak up the truths. I will listen again. I'm using all the resources I can; griefshare group, videos available on griefshare.com and daily email devotional, along with my own personal study, prayer and worship. God has been so comforting and helping me through this journey. I am grieving with Hope and Peace from the Lord.

I thought that this was too generalized and that the advice was one size fits all which isn't how life works. for example, when they said not to talk to members of the opposite sex about your grief. My best friend is a man and has been one of my best friends for a couple of years. I talk to him when I'm upset and I have for a while. I feel that telling someone to not talk to a member of the opposite sex maybe appropriate for a lot of people but for some of us that have been close to these people before our spouse or family member passed shouldn't be told to cut off somebody that's
important in their life.

didn't care for some of the advice
