Great Information but not the best format

Would you consider the audio edition of Growing Young to be better than the print version?

The book is filled with pretty much cutting edge information that you probably won't get from your doctor. It is excellent information if you want to be healthier and are willing to put forth the effort, energy and expense. The book is read by the author and doesn't have the polished presentation that a professional reader might give it but the author's enthusiasm does come through and overall the presentation is good enough that it doesn't detract but doesn't add anything either. Where the audio book really falls short is in the presentation of the technical information. The real "meat" of the book is a long list of supplements , dosages, manufactures, costs and time schedules. This is great information and so few authors ever get into real specifics. It is the specificity of this information that is so meaningful. This is not information that you can just remember so you need to take extensive notes. But trying to listen and write is difficult at best. I found myself having to going back several times to get the information down and was not sure of the spelling nor the dosages. The book needs an additional PDF file. Without the addition of a PDF file I would recommend purchasing the book in a print format and save yourself the aggravation.

Practical Supplements Recommended, and WHY !

Production value only fair, but good affordable (supplements are still expensive) recommendations in his 9 part Synergy Matrix. Recommended

Great Info.

Great info, but took a while to actually get to the beef of it. He gave new information I had not heard before, and i consider myself a " fountain of youth" guru. Been researching how to stay young since I was 20...53 now. I had heard about how telomere length determine life expectancy, but he gave some fresh info about how to lengthen them, that I had not know prior to reading this.

The complete plan

Loved it, very easy to understand plan for overall wellness. I have been listening to select parts again as I progressively add supplements. The explanations on the cause and effect are clear and easy to follow. I particularly like the product information, it makes the plan easy to execute.

Very helpful.

This book consolidates a lot of information, some of which is new, and some of which I had heard before. But the author does a great job of bringing it all together in a coherent way and making very practical recommendations. I wish I would have read this a few years ago.

Cutting Edge Info and Practical Implementation

I would give this book a 10-star rating if the rating system would allow it.

I enjoy reading and listen or read a couple books a week. Rarely will I reread a book. I just move onto the next one. Growing Young by Marcus L. Gitterle M.D. I have read in its entirety 3 times and have gone back and reread specific chapters many times. I love the subject of anti-aging and have read many books on the subject. Most without much of anything new or different. This book stands out above others. I learned things in “Growing Young”, that I seriously didn't know before.

The thing I love most about this book is the practical implementation. The action plan. It's easy to follow and he spells it right out for me. Take 1000mg of this and eat that. This is a book you can read and know exactly what you should do to get results. Far too often I read health books that talk about this study or that study, but they don't tell me how to implement that in my life. I'm left thinking, okay if they gave this much of that nutritional supplement to a rat. How much does that translate into for me? This book isn't like that at all. It spells it all out to me.... It tells you the what, the why and the how.

The narration was well read at a good pace. Marcus L Gitterle, the author, narrates this book himself. His voice was friendly and didn't bore me. Whether you are new to all this or a seasoned anti-aging fan, this information is presented in a comfortable manner that everyone can understand. If you're gonna purchase just one anti-aging book this year. This is the one I would recommend.

A PDF of the action plan accompanying the audible book would have made shopping for the supplements easier. I sat with pen and paper during the last chapter when he reads the action plan and jotted the items and doses down. Everything is summed up in the last chapter so you don't have to worry about taking notes until the end of the book when he sums it all up for us. I listen to audible books while driving, so after I finished the book. I just replayed the last chapter in an environment that I could take notes.

Strong theories need confirming controlled Studies

I had a good review for the subject of aging through my listening to "Growing Young".. I have an earlier personal positive experience regarding the chapter on diet.. I can say: it is mostly true! Of course I do support the recommendations on taking vitamin D3 supplements, fish oil and tumeric .. I would, however, seek further evidences before trying on the rest of the the rest of the recommendations (though appealing!) despite their strong and consistent scientific discussions that were provided in this book..

I do recommend the book or its audio version for those caring for their health from the inevitable aging!
