The smallest of creatures often carry the sharpest of stings. Lydia Chapman is just such a vampire. Her small stature hides a mighty wit, a razor-edged tongue, and an implacable protector of the only natural-born vampire in existence. Here is the back story of the snarkiest hero on Team Gordon/Demidova, told in her own words, just for fans of the Demon Accords. Go ahead and underestimate her ... it'll be fun.

This is another excellent story of the Demon Accords! However, after the excellent narration of JPC, Lily Garner is a poor substitute!! Loved hearing the back story of Lydia Chapman. She's hysterical! Can't wait for the next book to come out.

Please don't use Garner to narrate!

I don’t want it to be over!! Not the series, just this book. I love this series. I don’t care for the female narration but a decent job this go round. Please Mr. Conroe keep up the good works.

Nooo!!!

Story was good. The bouncing in time thing back and forth is kinda annoying. Especially since the narrator makes it hard to differentiate the characters.

Great story, Mid Narration

Love this series and this just adds to it!! Left on a total cliff hanger.

This is the 20th book in the urban fantasy/sci-fi Demon Accord series. It is always fun and exciting to visit the world where Lydia Chapman, Chris Gordon, Tanya Demidova, Declan O’Carroll and Stacia Reynolds live. Each book in the series continues to be engaging and the storylines continue to be fresh. This book is from Lydia’s point of view. We get Lydia’s back story interspersed with the continuation of where the last book left off. The world and its people have adjusted to the new normal. The overarching storyline continues about the pending attacks/invasion from Vorsook against earth, the death of millions of earth’s inhabitants, the deal with hell, and the arc about public opinion of our heroes and the various supernatural powers. I loved getting into Lydia’s head and seeing her relationship with the rest of the coven develop and deepen. Almost all of the characters from the other books are present in this book as well which gives the story more depth. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, end of the world scenarios, paranormal creatures, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, and laughs. I love this series. 4.5 stars.

Lily Ganser did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

Finally Lydia’s story!

As always John Conroe's book was excellent. The narration was poor all around. I cannot think of anything about it that was passable. Definitely worth reading and if rereleased with the usual narrator it would be worth buying but with this reader it is not worth it.

Narration was poor

I enjoyed hearing Lydia’s backstory. The overall story was advanced well. The narrator is getting much better. I thought she caught Lydia’s attitude quite well. I look forward to the next installment.

A great addition to the series

It's getting difficult to review the Demon Accords books.... how many different ways can you say, "Crazy overpowered bunch of characters with eye-rollingly gorgeous women and hunky guys, they're all suuuuuper godly but also everyday humans with hopes and flaws, And it's all a bit silly but also really fun." Looking forward to the next one!

Not my favorite character, but still a good story.

Ugh DNF and that kills me!!! Lydia is my FAVORITE side character. This story is awesome! It does exactly what the side character’s books are supposed to do giving us a background of the character’s past and continuing the series story. It’s just the AWFUL narration. Any narrator aside from James Patrick Cronin should NOT be allowed to record a Demon Accords book. Lily unfortunately didn’t have a chance. She probably narrates other books wonderfully, just NOT this one. It’s frustrating when you don’t even know which character is speaking. If the goal was to have a female voice to represent the female character, it probably won’t ever work, especially this late in the series. Narrators matter!!! JPC already nailed it in my opinion and gave voices to all the characters male and female!! They really do all have their own voices which is amazing. He did amazing from Lydia’s POV in The Demon Accords Compendium Vol. 1 First Impressions. Then he did amazing as Stacia in Rouges, Caeco in C.A.E.C.O., & Tanya in Darken Queen. But all books narrated by Lily Ganser are a 100% NO go for me. I LOVE the Demon Accords audibooks! I can’t count the number of times I’ve listened to them. Except the ones Lily performed, I don’t want to assault my ears with the 3 books she did. Unless you wanted to hear the most badass elder sound stupid or hear the toughest military, grandfather of the God Hammer sound like a whiny 16 year old boy. Sorry if I’m being harsh, but I was REALLY REALLY looking forward to this book being my epic favorite and the narration LET ME DOWN so hard. Mr. Conroe the Demon Accords Series is my favorite and the best book series I've read, but PLEASE never use this narrator for the Demon Accords again. To all the listeners, I highly recommend you go get the book and read it, but pass on the audio unless JPC gets to rerecord it!

Please rerecord with James Patrick Cronin
