About this listen

Eli’s had a rough month, waking up in some strange world only to face cultists, bandits, and a 3-meter-tall demon. Now, he finds himself in a mysterious contest against other non-human practitioners in a fight to the death. To make matters worse, some psycho back on Lurra is setting himself up as a claimant to an extinct empire bent on enslaving the world with his monstrous powers.

Harbinger Ascendant is the second book in an ongoing series focused on the sequestered world of Lurra. Prepare yourself for some epic world-building in a LitRPG (GameLit) reality with magical powers, fantasy, power progression, systems, a ton of mystery, and lots more adventure!

The first part of this book was a bit annoying with the main character mainly surviving because of stupid luck. Luck that happened over and over to the point of annoyance. But once you get past the first part, the rest of the book was actually pretty good.

The last half of the book was OK

First book hooked me in the end and was pleased when the author provided a code for this book as well in a Reddit campaign. I'm really loving the world that is being created. The characters feel fantastic. I'm finding myself attached to them and frustrated when they suddenly lose plot armor. I'm updating my current review now, as I have absolutely consumed all five of the books that have been released so far and I am really looking forward to how the story continues.
