A human, a hellhound, and an archangel walk into a bar...

Sounds like the first line to a joke, right? Only it's no joke...it's my damned life. Witches are running riot. Shifters are on the hunt. Demons are eating humans.

There's a new drug on the street. Sigil is dark and deadly...to the paranormal kind, opening up their second sight, urging them to maim, torture, and kill. And the bodies are piling up.

For me, it's an opportunity to get off The Circle's shit list and back in the black, because the Circle's Paranormal First Response Squad is more than my job, it's my legacy. So here I am, scoping out the only known distribution site, a hell-raising bar called Wicked, trying like hell to keep my eyes off the archangel who refuses my advances, and the hellhound who wants me six ways to Sunday.

He whispers dangerous things that set my pulse racing, turning toward the human, Inspector Titus Banks, and archangel Gabriel, who gives me a wink.

Oh my damn heart...this is gonna be a long-ass night. Hell really is a harem.

Contains mature themes.

The storyline had promise. The narrator was pretty good. But the constant repetitive use of “damn”- almost every other word was extremely distracting and frustrating. Almost as if the author needed word count filler. My husband was about ready to throw himself out of our moving car.

Ok story...but “damn”

Reading Hell is a Harem is like waking up in a tattoo parlor run by demons who only accept payment in sinful thoughts and inappropriate giggles. You think you’re just visiting for the weekend, but by Chapter 3, you’ve sold your soul for abs, wings, and a morally gray love pentagon.

This book is what would happen if Buffy the Vampire Slayer accidentally joined OnlyFans and then summoned Lucifer for dating advice. It’s horny. It’s hellish. It’s absurdly entertaining. The protagonist, Faith—who honestly might be possessed by the spirit of a Hot Topic mannequin from 2006—collects hot supernatural men like Pokémon, except instead of battles, there’s brooding, blood, and…um…binding rituals.

Every chapter feels like it’s about to burst into flames. The world-building is so spicy, I had to check if my Kindle came with a fire extinguisher. By the end, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to scream, blush, or join the cult (because let’s be honest, there’s totally a cult somewhere reading this in a candlelit basement with rune tattoos and matching lingerie).

In summary:
• Plot? Chaotic.
• Romance? Polyamorous and paranormal.
• Logic? Suspended like a demon on silk ropes.
• My sanity? Questionable, but I regret nothing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would sell my soul again.

Weird Book Review for Hell is a Harem by Kim Faulks

The story is fabulous and has excellent flow. Each chapter leaves you wanting the next one. I just wish the reader had more range. Range of tone, intensity, and possibly having a male counterpart for the male voices would add another level of depth

How Enticing

I'm on book 3 and the word filler is just too much. could cut whole series back to 2 books if they took out all the excess. Confusing, jumpy, overly informative, confusing fmc, 😕. Narration is auto toneed.

Word filler mostly

freaking narrator sucks; she is spitting everywhere. I've never been so annoyed in my life listening to her. she has no emotion is her ton and it's terrible. I can barely listen to 10 minutes at a time without cringing.

narrator sucks

The spice level is great, but plot holes galore, and I’m a bit eh about the polyam situation.

The narration was okay. The premise of the story was good, but it was lacking depth. Suddenly the characters were in love? The timeline was confusing. Once I realized I had no idea what was going on and only two hours left I gave up.

DNF with two hours left

the storyline has potential, but we are not shown events happening or decisions being made: a thing just suddenly IS, and the story moves on.

it's a good enough story, but not written especially well

The book is a little confusing how it progresses in 1 part (skips from 1 scene to another) but the MC says she’s confused & doesn’t remember how she got where she was so in a way it makes sense. Other reviews say the word damn is used a lot & it is but it’s something I could deal with. The narrator did a good job of doing multiple voices but if it’s bothersome I’ve learned to speed it up. There’s sexual tension throughout the book with an actual sex scene probably at the 3/4 mark (not what the other review said). It’s book 1 out of 4 & more often than not that’s how these series are. I expect more in the following books. Starting book 2 now & looking forward to what the author has in store.

Good listen

I’m halfway through, I don’t know if the stilted narration, or just bizarre writing, but I have NO idea what’s going on. There have been maybe 3 completed thoughts in 4 hours of audio. So, ima return this.

Huh?
