About this listen

Four Hispanic college students drive through South Texas on a summer road trip. In the middle of nowhere they are stopped by a small town sheriff who accuses them of being illegal immigrants. Little do they know, he is no sheriff and the town he delivers them to is unlike anything else. The town is hidden in the hills and mountains of Southwest Texas.

There, the townspeople live by their own rules. When the sheriff brings the group to town, the residents are more than happy to explore the depths of human suffering. Each of them goes through their own personal hell as they are subjected to some of the most horrific experiences they never knew existed. They learn quickly they have arrived in Hell, Texas.

story was ok, the narration was God awful

the story was okay I guess not great, the narration was absolutely horrible cut and splice together in addition for most of the narration you could hear a television playing in the background which was very off-putting and distracting

Most disturbing thus far!!!!

If you could sum up Hell, Texas in three words, what would they be?

What the hell??????

Who was your favorite character and why?

Not even going there! Everytime I kind of liked a character, they were either killed off or furniturized in a really gruesome way!!!! Ahhhhhhh!!!!

What does Sarah Jackson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has this creepy, little girl voice , that can descend into a Mexican male, so quickly that you would SWEAR there are at least 2 narrators !

Who was the most memorable character of Hell, Texas and why?

The most memorable moment? Hah!!! I can't even talk about it!

Any additional comments?

I am a huge fan of Tim Miller, even though I can't seem to show it; my shock and awe preclude it ....I hope that someday, my orders will be known universally.

Gory and Awesome!

The story was very disturbing, but in a good way. Yes, there is some noise in the background while Sarah Jackson is reading, but I enjoyed her performance. Overall a pretty good book, now on to Return to Hell Texas.

Unprofessional

I really like the narrator. She has a soft, eerie voice perfect for the story, and does excellent voices that makes it easy to keep characters distinguished. However, the quality was so unprofessional it was shocking: TV in the background, and repeated lines. I was tempted to get a refund it was so bad. I kept getting distracted by wondering how she doesn’t have a quiet place in which to record at her home, or how disrespectful her family is to be listening to the TV so loudly while she was working.

The story is gruesome, and not my style. It was recommended to me when I said I wanted to be “disturbed.” This is a different kind of disturbed—not scary, or thrilling, or poignant—but truly sickening. I’ve never been nauseated by mere words before. If that’s what you’re looking for, look no further!

Great Story

I really loved this books, for a short story it had some really interesting turns but the narrator kept fumbling with her words and whats with that radio? I could hear that radio blaring through the whole book. But it doesn't matter, 5/5.

Audio is horrible

Content was ok but the audio is horrible. Must have been recorded in the narrators house as you could here a tv in the back ground. I even identified a baseball game. Also there are errors in the editing where the story repeated itself.
