Publisher's summary

Tracy Crosswhite returns in the second book in the page-turning series by New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni.

Homicide detective Tracy Crosswhite has returned to the police force after the sensational retrial of her sister’s killer. Still scarred from that ordeal, Tracy is pulled into an investigation that threatens to end her career, if not her life.

A serial killer known as the Cowboy is killing young women in cheap motels in North Seattle. Even after a stalker leaves a menacing message for Crosswhite, suggesting the killer or a copycat could be targeting her personally, she is charged with bringing the murderer to justice. With clues scarce and more victims dying, Tracy realizes the key to solving the murders may lie in a decade-old homicide investigation that others, including her captain, Johnny Nolasco, would prefer to keep buried. With the Cowboy on the hunt, can Tracy find the evidence to stop him, or will she become his next victim?

Addicted To The Series

I knew Tracy's boss had his own agenda, but that man was the epitome of arrogance and deceit. That had to be an awful environment to work in, especially when trust was so important.

This book had somewhat of a dark element that was full of mystery, action, suspense, and danger. Tracy really took some hits in this one. I liked her relationship with Dan, her partnership with Kins, and the introduction of Faz.

I was intrigued by the aspect of introducing Nolasco's old case into the Cowboy's case along with the identity of the noose maker and knot tier. It seemed like a lot was going on, but everything merged together so smoothly that it turned into an almost nonstop listen for me.

Dugoni did it again, Awesome attention grabbing

What can I really say other than - Dugoni did it again. The story will grab your interests and compel you to listen until the end. I won't give the story away, but I can tell you the plot is not predictable. The story was well written,, and awesomly narrated with the Irish accent and a bit of humor. I laughed a few times. This audible buck is one you wouldn't mind listening to again.

I really like this style

this is a good series. I've read the academy and book 1 and now this one. I love that we have the same narrator. the plots are great, the sense of humor is hilarious and it's nice to have a female hero

OMG

A great book. I rarely write reviews but this books makes it into the top three favorite books I've read it the last year. I read
A lot about 100 books a year. Dugoni had a great story line. I thought I figured it out twice but I was wrong. But it's takes more the a great story line to make a book move to my top 3 and say OMG. Dugoni was able to hook me by provoking the emotional connection with his characters. I cried, laughed, got mad at the Caption. The emotional connection a reader creates is Dugoni best talent

Sins of the Mother

The Cowboys has a thing for exotic dancer and it never ends well for them. It is Detective Tracy Crosswise job to bring this killing spree to an end. Well written and the narration was exceptional.
