About this listen

She’s chasing a killer. He’s watching her every move.

He hides in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment. Each kill is calculated, planned and executed like clockwork.

Struggling to balance her personal and professional life, young DS Becca Vincent has landed the biggest case of her career - and she knows that it will make or break her. But she can’t catch the culprit alone. Together with facial recognition expert Joe Russell, she strives to get a lead on the elusive murderer, who is always one step ahead of them.

Time is not on their side. The body count is rising, and the attacks are striking closer and closer to home. Can Becca and Joe uncover the connection between the murders before the killer strikes the last name from his list?

A serial killer story

Set in London, this is the story of a unique serial killer with an agenda to not only get revenge on everyone responsible for the current state of his life, but recognition for his love for his family.

Only one narrator

The only negative is that since I have been binging Marrs books, I got used to the 2 narrators(male/female) this one only uses one female voice. That being said it was still great. Nice build all the way through that perfect epilogue.

Not as good as Marrs' other books

I definitely would recommend his other books before this one. Try What Lies Between Us" or "When You Disappeared" for lots more twists and turns. I'd consider this more of a straight murder mystery than suspense, like the others.

Overall great

some of the characters got confusing. I had to repeat chapters sometimes to try and figure out who was who. But the story was so good that I didn't mind having to replay them.

Awesome Thriller/Mystery

This writer is fantastic. If you enjoy mystery/thriller genre fiction, he is your author. I couldn’t put this one down. The story splits from convention just before the end, which I also found satisfying. I’m not going to *spoil* it by citing the deviation, but it is unusual. I didn’t think it was something one could break!

Great story line but

Got really tired of the pissing and moaning of the characters. After thr fifth time time pissing and moaning of how bad she or he felt got really
stale. But great plot just ease up on the whining

Missed opportunity

The duo of Russell and Vincent had so much potential post resolution of the serial killer case!! Ending left too much unanswered questions and open ends. It was a decent read or listen-as always Elizabeth Knowelden did a fabulous job narrating the story. Her performance made completing the book enjoyable.
