About this listen

Don’t miss this sexy, queer rom-com full of love, laughter, and a little karaoke.

Toni Danzig is a dirt bag—literally. There’s nothing she enjoys more than being out in the mountains leading adventure tours. On a well-deserved break over a long weekend, she’s DJ-ing karaoke at the Dew Drop Inn when Audrey Adams takes the stage to sing the greatest middle finger break-up song ever, dedicated to her ex-girlfriend. It’s a perfect night that culminates in a transcendental experience in bed…before Audrey rushes out the next day.

Monday morning, the holidays are in full swing when Audrey’s worst nightmare comes true. After the most memorable night of her life, she’s thrust together with the one woman who she hasn’t been able to forget—on a strictly-professional consulting project for her family’s business.

Meanwhile, Toni can’t believe her luck. Now she has the unexpected chance to win Audrey over, and she sets a goal to be someone worthy of this woman’s love and respect. Will they crash and burn like a bad karaoke performance—or will they be singing a duet before the new year?

AMAZING

I loved this so much! The characters are wonderful and deep for it being criminally short. It is very sweet and also sexy. The perfect holiday rom-com with a slight edge. I thought it was a great LGBTQIA story and I liked that there was so much depth of character and back story while keeping it light. It made me laugh and smile. It warmed my heart and I wanted way more time with Toni and Audrey. Please please, Laura Henry, make more of these stories, you beautiful genius! The narrators were wonderful. Both did an excellent job with a range of characters. I highly recommend this.

More angst than fluff

I was expecting Hallmark and got Lifetime. The story was good. The narration was good, but there was a lot more angst than I anticipated from the synopsis and sample. Maybe if the timeline had been more spread out, but it was all crammed together in about a month's time and it was a little too much for my taste. I almost stopped reading at one point, but decided I needed to see if it had a happy ending, which it did, so two thumbs up for that. As another reviewer noted, the accents left a little to be desired -- not that I could do better; but it almost took away from the scenes because they sounded stilted and forced. I think they could have been eliminated and not affected the presentation in any way. Glad it was included in my subscription and I didn't use a credit on it but I haven't crossed the author off my list. I'm interested to see how her other works compare.

narrators brought this light FF romance to life

I enjoyed the cute holiday romance. despite homopbobes commenting here, the narrators were really good and portrayed the characters well. If you don't like queer content, take your ears elsewhere. don't leave a bad review.

Short and sweet.

This was a great pallet cleanser after a deep intense dive into dark romance. I appreciate the realistic quality of the characters.

Toni is a bit juvenile but then you learn she’s only 31 compared to Audrey’s 40 years. But other than Audrey always sounding like she’s crying I enjoyed this novella.

Waiting Game

Honestly I really liked this book. It had quite a handful of predictable moments but I like those so it was sweet. The only thing I’d say is I wish it was longer.

It was like a very slow burn with some fiery moments here and there but there was a sweet ending. I just wanted to see more of their story and how it played out.

So adorable!!!

I am surprised that this is the only book by Laura Henry! The story is full of heartbreak, comedy and so much Sapphic love! It’s a read that had me hooked by the first 5 minutes, and then I couldn’t get enough!
K highly recommended this title for anyone who is interested in finding their person or has had a breakup. It’s a short story that keeps you on your toes.

Sweet and Romantic

This was a very fun listen. The narrators did an excellent job with the characters and making the listen enjoyable.

The story was very sweet and romantic. It was short, but there was plenty of story and didn't feel rushed. I will definitely check out other books from this author.
