Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Travel to other planets is now a reality, and with overpopulation stretching the resources of Earth, the necessity of finding habitable worlds is growing ever more urgent. There’s a problem though—because the spaceships are slower than light, any communication between the exploring ships and Earth would take years.
Tom and Pat are identical twin teenagers. As twins they’ve always been close, so close that it seemed like they could read each other’s minds.

Story
After pleading guilty to a series of homicides, Esau Till sits on death row, writing his life story. But his memoir is his one last chance to protect his brother. And, when it comes to his baby brother, Esau Till is a man without boundaries. When the genetic cards were dealt, Esau drew a genius IQ - and a crippled body. His brother Tory drew a slow mind - and almost superhuman strength. Very early on, Esau learned that the only way to guarantee his brother's safety was to make himself indispensable, so he became the top hired killer for both rival local mobs.

Story
Unlike other branches of the armed services, the Navy draws its police force from the ranks as temporary duty - Shore Patrol. In this funny, bawdy, moving audiobook set during the height of the Vietnam War, two career sailors in transit in Norfolk, Virginia - Billy "Bad-Ass" Buddusky and Mule Mulhall - are assigned to escort 18-year-old Larry Meadows from Norfolk to the brig in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where he is to serve an eight-year sentence for petty theft. It's good duty, until the two old salts realize the injustice of the sentence and are oddly affected by the naive innocence of their young prisoner.

Story
The word conquer has changed meaning for Bryan Anderson. As a U.S. army sergeant in Iraq, it meant taking down the enemy. After becoming Iraq’s fourth triple amputee from a roadside explosive, what he had to conquer got a bit more personal. On October 23, 2005, the moment Bryan looked down and realized he no longer had legs, he cracked a joke. It was a tragedy that could break many, but Bryan transformed it into something positive, something that propelled him forward.

Enjoying the Whole Series
I gotta say the narration is spot on for the characters. I am really enjoying the whole series. In fact, I look forward to each book as it comes up and get a little sad when it ends everybody needs this sort of humor from time to time.

People that you care about in fascinating problems with very clever solutions.
It comes down to the fascinating plots that the author relates to us that keeps the books so fresh. I am in the process of re-listening to the series, and this arc of books from book 15 to 20 or so is perhaps the strongest so far. I am a massive fan of the world-building covered in the first books of the series, but this arc is right up there for me. Chris’s narration is once again top shelf. I personally wish that he could soften the hillbilly drawl that he uses for the Titular ‘Bob’, but I understand that is as desired by the author. The Author uses repetition of phrasing as a particular style. If you listen for more than a few hours at a stretch, it can become annoying(it still bothers me, but the enjoyment of the whole experience of the adventures of BSR gets me past it every time).

love em all BUT
So this has really been a great series and the publisher packs are well worth the money at around 16-18 hours. I bought the last few before I realized I was only getting 8-9 hour books for the same price and in my opinion that is a little pricey. As much as I like the series I won't be buying any more til there are "publisher packs available" also the fact that Audible has raised it prices to 40 bucks for 3 credits from 33 dolars an increase of almost 25% has made me start looking around and I have found there are other audible competitors that have sales and sometimes you can find the same books much cheaper without a membership.
Lets not forget that once they've made an audible book there are no more overhead costs they are just copies that cost nothing to make. I would like to see audible come doen on their prices a bit.
