My favorite of the Duke's Men!

Any additional comments?

My favorite of the Duke's Men books. Loved how the hero and heroine were each other's match and equal in every way and how there was not too much "does he/she love me." It can be tedious at times and there was very little of that in this book.

Intriguing and Delicious!

This book is just wonderful all the way around. I love Tristan... I love Zoe. It's just great in every aspect. There's a intriguing story line outside of the romance... the romance in itself has a wonderful believable progression. The supporting characters are interesting and really add to the overall plot. The way the story unfolds is heartwarming and I found myself tearing up near the end.

This series gets better with each book....which is not usually the case.

I am going to seek out more Sabrina Jeffries books after this series!

Side note: The narrator's voice for the American Jeremy Keen, is HORRID! But the rest of the narration is good.

Lots of sex, some romance, a little mystery

Sabrina Jeffries has a penchant in this series to create the story around difficult...very difficult....women. I fast forwarded through the extensive sex and the conscientious dialogue , making the book much shorter. In some cases, I fast forwarded through two or three chapters. Regardless, I stuck with the book to see what happened next and I did enjoy the book.

💜 Fantastic Story!

This was so fun, I say this often in my reviews but my favorite story is one in which the H&H work together and their relationship evolves nicely, without angst and conflict. This was just such a story.

Zoey and Tristan meet at the end of the previous book (When the Rogue Returns) and she is 'owed' an investigative favor, which she goes to Manton's Investigations to collect on. She and Tristan aren't a fan of each other but end up having to work with each other on her case and because the spend so much time together they end up falling in love along the way. The story of Tristan continued from his sisters story in the first book (What the Duke Desires) and ties up nicely with Zoeys story.
The main characters, as well as many secondary characters, from the first two books were also included in this one along with the continuations of their stories.
As for this particular story, it sure could have gone so many ways. There were several plot pieces at times that made me cringe for what I thought the outcome of it would be but it never played out the way I expected, which was nice because I definitely preferred the way they DID play out.
Corrie James did a fantastic job. Not only did she do a fabulous job with the characters in this book but she also maintained the characters from the previous books!! I happen to like her voice, except (and I noted this in the previous books) that it sometimes sounds like she has a mouthful of spit and needs to just dang swallow!! But it's not a deal breaker and in this book it wasn't too bad.

I got this book on sale for $3.41 and it was definitely worth it. I would not have been disappointed if it had been a 2/1 sale either. I don't know if it would be worth a full credit but I very rarely purchase anything with a full credit. It has to be something specific that I want to read.
