Publisher's summary

Don't let your traumatic past hold you back—shed the chains of suffering and embrace newfound strength, peace within yourself, and a liberated spirit.

Would you like to leave your troublesome past behind and take a giant leap into the future? Millions around the globe grapple with similar difficulties, and a shocking survey revealed that well over two-thirds of young people had encountered a traumatic event in their teenage years.

It can be challenging to move past painful situations when those who caused them are your kin. Those you expected to cradle and shield you were instead your tormentors. The cycle continues, and if no action is taken, an intergenerational curse of pain and suffering will be unleashed. The wounds from the past are like a time bomb waiting to explode—further damaging future generations. You just need the strength to face your trauma head-on, be gentle with yourself, and be a supportive guide to reconnect with the child within you.

This indispensable guidebook will be your companion on the journey to rebirth, helping you reach new heights and achieve all that is rightfully yours.

In this handbook, you will discover:

  • How to reconnect and improve the relationship with your inner child.
  • Real-life anecdotes from survivors of childhood trauma–how they overcame great adversity and lived to talk about it.
  • Simple and practical tips to become more self-aware and discover the real you that lies within.
  • The power of words, and how you can use them to transform your life.
  • The cause–and effect–of your insecurity, fear, and anxiety, and how you can turn the tables.
  • How practicing self-forgiveness can take you a step closer to a better inner self–and how to make sure you don't lose yourself in the process.
  • Clear signs that your inner child is healing—and the best exercises to further accelerate the process.
  • How to cease negative self-talk and instead cultivate a kinder view of yourself, replacing self-pity with comforting acceptance of your flaws.

It's Time to Heal Trauma

We often hear about the concept of the inner child. Now it’s time to really learn about the child in you that at some point in your life may have experienced trauma. How do you deal with trauma? What are the effects of trauma on the mind, the soul, and the body? In her book, How to Master the Art of Understanding the Inner Child, Lynette Alexander does an amazing job providing you with counseling techniques for those hidden, hurt places that we often times are not aware of and don’t have the understanding to deal with on our own. So, here’s the book that will expose you to you. Is it painful? Yes. You have to be willing to take the journey daily to come to a state of divine healing. She begins by explaining the inner child, then she gets you to confront the trauma of the inner child only to lead you to explaining how to heal from the wounds. This book is not meant to be read fast. It’s not meant to be used as a one-time healing but a book that helps you process daily the scars and hidden wounds over time. It’s a therapy session comprised in a book that you can do over and over if you’re willing to put in the work. It can be a lot to digest but so worth it because it allows you to find yourself in the pages. Get ready to cry. Get ready to be angry, but more than that get ready to walk the journey of becoming whole. You will not be disappointed as you read because the more you read, the more you want to know. The more you know, the more the desire to be healed takes precedence. What are you waiting for? For anyone who wants to deal with the trauma of the past, this is definitely a must read.

Go back in time and explore the child within you..

This book was a-maz-ing! If you have ever been a child then you should read this book, from the youngest to the oldest. It was relatable, informative and educational. It gives such hopefulness for all the little children within us all who at some point did not feel protection, heard or worthy. Love the inspirational quotes provided. This is 100% a book club read, so get your pen and paper and start exploring healing together because you are not alone. I love when the author said, often times we are too busy surviving our trauma to be the best version of ourselves, this was a great self-check reminder to what we have conditioned ourselves to believe is normal. The author also reminded us to pay attention to how our behavior contradict our values because even with the best intentions many of us have and can get derailed. As parents we should explore different parental approaches, it can quite possibly save the next generations of inner child.

Comprehensive Guide

This is a fantastic audiobook that does an excellent job of explaining and delving into the topic of childhood trauma, as well as how it affects your life, even if it is kept concealed. It is a beneficial and effective method for excavating one's traumatic experience from childhood and developing the ability to move on towards joy, happiness, lessened fears, and existence free from trauma.
You will also be taught how to get beyond triggers and flashbacks and how to confront traumatic experiences and move on from them. In addition, Lynette Alexander, both the author of the narrative and the person who reads it to us, has done an excellent job of guiding us along the path that leads to the healing of a kid. When you have finished learning all of the knowledge that is offered in this audiobook, you will notice a significant improvement in your life.

Great intonation!

I listened this audiobook and Ms. Weller’s narration about how childhood trauma impacts our life as adults was what I anticipated.
This was my first time listening to Ms. Heller. Her good intonation grabbed my attention and kept me focused on what was next.
Her female voice was cast perfectly.
I will recommend it to anyone who wants tools to break away from grief and live responsibly in the present.

Eye Opening

In listening to this book it has opened a different approach to how I see relationships with a better understanding of how and why people behave the way they do. It’s like opening the third eye. I recommend this read to everyone even if you had a great childhood, In understanding the people around you is to live with your higher self, This book creates that channel.
