A Wake-Up Call That Helped
I went into this feeling defensive but ended up feeling more aware and ready to grow. The advice didn’t sugarcoat things but it wasn’t harsh either. The narrator’s voice was calm and steady which helped me stay with it even when parts were hard to hear. It reminded me of a tough talk I had with my sister where I finally listened instead of reacting. The book gave clear steps that made change feel real and doable not just talk. I’ve started using the tools and already see small shifts in how I respond.

Hard to Hear, But I Needed It
Listening to this wasn’t easy, but it hit home. I’ve started noticing patterns in myself that were affecting the people I care about. This audiobook didn’t shame me—it just laid things out clearly and gave steps I could actually follow. The narrator kept it steady and real, which helped me stay engaged. It’s not an overnight fix, but it’s a solid starting point if you’re serious about making changes and being more aware of how you treat others.

made me see myself differently
This audiobook was gifted to me, and wow, what an eye-opener. Sometimes we don’t realize we have narcissistic tendencies that hurt our relationships. This audiobook helped me recognize small habits I never thought about, like how I react in conflicts or try to control situations. It’s not about blaming yourself but learning to be more self-aware and make changes. If you want to improve how you connect with others, this is definitely worth listening to

Honest and Makes You Think Deeply
I listened to this alone during a quiet afternoon because I wanted to better understand some patterns in my life. The narrator’s voice is direct but not harsh, which helped me stay open to the message. The book made me pause and reflect without feeling judged. It reminded me of when I finally admitted I needed help with something and felt both scared and relieved. This audiobook gives clear steps but also space to really think about who you are and how to grow.

Opened My Eyes To Some Of My Prior Relationships.
I never thought I’d say this, but this book helped me realize I was the problem in some relationships. Thomas Ruggerio doesn’t sugarcoat anything, but he also doesn’t shame you. It felt like having a tough convo with a wise friend. The exercises made me reflect deeply and start making changes that stick. If you’re ready to take ownership and grow, this is a solid place to start.

Wonderful
This audiobook was a tough but rewarding listen. I picked it up after realizing some of my habits were pushing people away, and it delivered a clear, no-nonsense roadmap to self-awareness. The steps to break free from manipulative tendencies were practical and grounded—things like journaling and active listening really stood out as doable changes. My only gripe was that a couple of sections felt a bit repetitive, but overall, it’s been a huge help in rebuilding trust with the people I care about. Highly recommend it to anyone ready to face themselves and grow.

Great guide to changing habits
I have experienced a narcissist firsthand, and it was not good. I started to see the same traits in my daughter and wanted to see if we could change that before she leaves for college. I found this audiobook and listened to it end to end and found it enlightening. The book is well written, and the narration is easy to follow. I gave it to my daughter, and at first she resisted, but once she gave it a chance, she realized it's coming from love. She is working on the steps and seems to be improving on her habits. Fingers crossed she will continue.
