About this listen

Let’s start with a lie–if you read Gavin Stone’s book How to Tell If Someone Is Lying you will be guaranteed to spot a liar in any circumstance and no matter who they are or what their motivation to lie may be.

Let’s start with the truth–detecting lies is an art that has some scientific principles.

Stone’s book deals with the truth about liars and lies. It enables you to have a toolkit of knowledge and expertise to increase your chances of spotting a liar. The book accepts that there isn’t a cast-iron methodology for always detecting liars and their falsehoods, but there are tricks of the trade and insights that maximize your chances of identifying deception.

And Stone’s tricks of the trade are the real trade, tested in-theatre as a covert operative. He’s also rolled his sleeves up as an investigator and dealt with more day-to-day matters that can affect us all. As a result, his book is accessible and vital to anyone who wants to know if they’re dealing with a liar.

How to Tell If Someone Is Lying is a ground-breaking, honest, down-to-earth, and easy to apply must-listen for anyone who wants to lead a happy life without liars in the mic. Like Stone, it’s the real deal.

The voice actor spoke clearly and was easily understood.
I appreciate the points in the read that are focused on the subject of the title of the book.
In total there are so many words the author chose to share in this audio book that are of no use so listening to what’s important will be hard to find the second time I listen to the audio. I wish the author would write this over and only use what’s relevant.
I do like this book, but without all the filler useless points I would have been able to look forward to listening for a second time without dreading having to fast forward past the useless noise to get to the learning.

Quite often I found myself bored and disengaged during the story time leads to buy other books (something that could be at the end instead of dribbled throughout the entire book) and other nonsense that was added.
NEVER BE LIED TO AGAIN is a good example of a book that I found much easier to learn from because of the on point amount of information it shared without all the filler.

It’s obnoxious that he writes assuming his audience is male. His examples, when he addresses the reader, all revolve around this assumption. Painful listening if you are a woman, even cringey at times.
