About this listen

Is your life so crazy busy that you don’t even remember the last time you sat down and got to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea?

Remember those carefree days when you sat for hours talking with your girlfriends or your buddies without interruption? Remember how you felt? Happy. Relaxed. Content. Comfortable. It was just you and them.

That level of happiness is Hygge.

Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) is the simple, stress-free lifestyle that the Danish and Norwegians have been living for centuries. Denmark and Norway both regularly rank in the top three happiest countries in the world and Hygge is the main reason why.

Hygge has more to do with the emotional happiness experienced by developing a relaxed, stress-free way of life and less to do with acquiring monetary possessions.

In this book, you will be shown how you can easily implement the Hygge way of life regardless of where you live and the amount of money in your bank account.

Learn how everyday interactions with friends and family can help you practice the principles of Hygge.

Even with today’s hectic lifestyle, that simple, stress-free lifestyle is something that can easily be obtained. By simply making one small change a day, you can easily live the Hygge lifestyle. Best of all, this book shows you how these changes don’t have to cost you anything.

Hygge encourages you to value moments and experiences over money and meaningless possessions.

To help you easily incorporate Hygge into your life, a 21 Days of Hygge Challenge is included in the book. In just three short weeks, you can replace your harried life with one of calm and tranquility.

It is never too late to start living the calming Hygge lifestyle. Get your copy today to start the 21 Days of Hygge Challenge and start living the relaxed, less stressful Hygge lifestyle.

This book will be a good start.

If I understand the concept, this book itself is hygge. Charming, happy and positive. The translation differences are adorable. Just a fun, sweet read for a gloomy, blustery winter day. It doesn't quite flow as other books but I do love that it is so different than other books and it's a very relaxing and interesting read!

Short but Effective

This is a very brief book, and the narrator reads really quickly, so it felt a little overwhelming. I am very into Minimalism right now, and was pleased to find that I am already living Hygge in many ways, but this was very helpful guide to see the pieces and parts I was missing. I think would love to get the numbered lists as a PDF copy or image to go with the audiobook.

Very insightful and full of advice for living

I was able to understand that hygge is very important, because it is a feeling of comfort, need, harmony. It is well written here how to add it to your home. It's easy, you need to start with yourself ... this will help to have hygge both in your family and at work. I'm happy to learn about what simple actions can make life better.

Interesting Concept

A quick listen that I will listen to regularly to make sure I completely understand the concept. I heard the term Hygge from my WW pamphlet of all places. It immediately intrigued me and I purchased the book. My word for 2019 is, Intentionality, and this book will be a large part of it! I highly recommend this book to people who want a more comfortable life!

a pretty good send help book

stating this is a self help book to me is pushing it. I was skeptical because I don't like to read self help books, however woke I was listening I found I did many of the suggestions as well looked forward to try the suggestions I don't currently practice. I think hygge would help reduce stress and help you relax. I recommend, it's a short knowledgeable book.

“Exspecially” is not a word

Some nice ideas for hygge in this book but the narrator not only speaks a mile a minute in near-monotone, she pronounces “especially” as if it had an x or a c in the first syllable. Gah! Please please screen narrators for these kinds of egregious mispronunciations!

hygge

Hygge seems to be a concept similar in some ways to the recent interests in minimalism and mindfulness.  It is defined as a "quality of coziness" and is focused on your own comfort and joy.

This book discusses hygge with regards to your home, decor, pets, children, work, relationships, and finances.

I find the notion of "Swedish Death Cleaning" to be intriguing, although I find it less morbid to pretend I am moving rather than dying.

The narration is quite soothing and fits in well with the material.

I received this book through Audiobook Boom in exchange for an honest review. 2.5/5 stars.
