About this listen

Contains volumes 1–3 of the epic series.

Beat the Demon Lord and save the world? No, thanks!

My name is Mal, and ever since I was a boy I've been treated as a malcontent because of my ability to see magic. For everyone else, magic is proof of the Goddess's love. For me, it is just a colorful spread of enchantments, cantrips, blessings, and hexes. And any spell I can see, I can break.

I had always expected to grow up to be a ditch-digger. Instead, I was dubbed a hero. Heroes are sent out in the wasteland to slay monsters and to challenge the Demon Lord. It's a suicide mission. Once exiled, I found that the outside world was drastically different than I had thought. The beautiful women I meet, demons, dragons, and orcs, might be my best shot at surviving the insanity I've been thrown into.

Narrated in duet style.

Such a great collection

Gilly is best girl just go in knowing that. I ended up buying both omnibus before I finished book one. This has been a great adventure with funny side characters. I highly recommend it worth the buy. Spice is short and sweet and gets the point across without taking up to much time.

Every character in every book you write is insufferable.

I managed 7 chapters of your first book before I could hardly listen anymore. Here we have a completely useless main character that has a single quirky ability that will somehow make him the most powerful character in the entire story by the end. Our first love interest is a fanatical nut job. Main character gets forced to ALMOST do some bad shit, and then we get to your absolute favorite trope. A patheticly weak main character in a world where everyone hates him for something he had no part of, and the only people who treat him somewhat like a decent person are the absolute dregs of society. First harem member introduced is thrust into a sex scene within hours of meeting the main character, teaching the main character how to please a woman because she was bored. Yep that’s the woman I want to be by my side for the rest of my life alright. As for the rest of the world, they are fully aware and acknowledging that our main character was BRAINWASHED AND FORCED into almost committing crimes and yet instead of addressing that, suddenly the entire world just ignores it because the goddess that forced him is a bad guy. As for your main character himself, a weak spineless main character that will spend the first 4 books being barely competent enough not to kill himself with his sword and being protected by the woman that will inevitably force themselves into his life.
